Our offense was embarrassing to watch many times last season.
We beat up some weak run defenses and ran up the score but otherwise it was putrid. Thank what you want about Murray, but last years offensive game plan isn’t going to take you anywhere. The NFL doesn’t want teams to consistently win with 21 or less points just chewing up game clock and going run, run, dink, run, run, dink. It’s not a good product.. we were also painfully boring to watch.

Many saw it and now the media also sees it.

I don't want to see a throwback offense ever again.

Wow, Mina Kimes didn't hold back, placing much of the blame for MJH's disappointing stats on how he was used in the Card's offense, not capitalizing on his strengths. Hopefully, Petzing and Murray will better utilize MJH next season. If they don't, something has to change.

Is the point to win football games or feature MHJ? Which don’t choose if those come into conflict?

MHJ was disappointing for sure. The offense was still pretty good. I don’t think you can lay the blame for Kyler’s 79.9 passer rating in December at MHJ’s feet.

Uh Petz..Murray doesn’t design the offense.

Featuring Marvin’s strengths I would think would help win football games.

Kyler was more the issue. The job of a coach to put players in the best chance to succeed. If Kyler was missing open Marvin, they need to adjust to Murray’s strengths.

weird

you have the ESPN guy saying "Marv is getting open, Kyler isnt throwing him the ball"

but also Marv was right up near the team lead in target percentage (clear leader for WRs on the Cards) --

it suggests the Kyler mostly throws the ball Marv's way when he is covered and not when he is open

which makes no sense at all

Back shoulder fades are a very low percentage play in the NFL. Kyler, for whatever reason, felt the need to throws those a lot to Marv. Also, for a lot of Marvs better routes, those are routes that take time. Kyler does not like to hold the ball in the pocket to be able to hit intermediate routes on time.

Happy feet because the blocking is breaking down?

For me, this is where Murray height matters. When the pocket tightens I think he wants to get out to see better vs throwing to windows and trusting players to be there. He has consistently done better when he can see separation vs anticipating it.

I think the line is ok. Monti could probably do a bit better in adding size at OG to set the front of the pocket. I think this is why the Cardinals were interested in Booker.

Ok, but the guards and RT are unproven and/or injury prone. Again. When it it end?

i think mhj has accepted his route designs - usage and quarterback - realized he needed to bulk up to get that separation through contact in the first 5 yards because some of the balls coming his way are coming regardless if he's is open or not - i mean if trey is covered and murray doesn't wanna run... good luck marv

what we would all like is for all 3 to be better at their jobs this year - murray petzing and mhj - im actually hopeful

Yep, this is what I am saying. The passing game seems like an afterthought to Petzing.

We would be in a lot of trouble without McBride.
Marvin might have more targets if they ever passed on 2nd down amirite?

there is no doubt that Kyler likes the fade throw down the sideline -- or if the corner is on top, the back shoulder

it worked a bunch with Fitz, DHop, AJ Green -- the first two upper tier contested ball artists and AJ wasnt bad at it

Marv is bad at it. Maybe he gets better.

Marv definitely prefers the ball over his shoulder rather than turning and highpointing. Maybe part of Kyler and Marv getting on the same page is knowing that he has to put it in front of Marv and let him stretch to get it.

If Jonah is healthy, he is above average. I don't feel Brown and Adams are bad, but OG is actually a spot where there are still opportunities to add vets if needed if they don't like what they see in camp.

If Jonah is healthy…

And none of the guards they bring in will be substantially better than current state.

But okay.

Last season was the first time Williams missed significant time. its not unreasonable to expect to get 15 games from him this season.
