That was basically the ruling - once someone is dead, he can no longer harm baseball, so they automatically come off the list

He lied for so long about the fact that he bet on his team and was a huge jerk with his behavior including all of the complaining about the punishment he went through - which he agreed to, by the way. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy as they say. He was fantastic on the field and a whole other thing off the field.

I couldn't care less if Pete Rose or Jackson ever got in to be honest. I mean they screwed themselves. However, if the new rules allow them to get in after they are gone? Still don't care but I guess that is OK.

I think he should already be there. I blame the league for the steroid scandal and Bonds had earned a spot in the Hall well before he started juicing. Yes he kept going after the league finally stepped up so penalize him, sure, but it's been long enough.

Yep, if he had thrown himself at the league's mercy from day one and admitted the extent of his actions, he might have eventually gotten in, but instead there was a 20 year trickle that revealed more and more details that directly contrasted the story he kept telling in his self righteous interviews.

He absolutely did, unfortunately he also earned his lifetime ban. I'm glad it's been reduced to just that.
