A Suns roster update, if the Suns sign Jae Crowder and bring back Jevon Carter and Dario Saric.

This is only 12 players. The Suns must carry 14 players although most teams carry 15 man rosters.

So the Suns will need to add at least two more players unless I missed someone.

C: Deandre Ayton

PF: Dario Saric, Cameron Johnson, Jalen Smith, Jae Crowder

SF: Mikal Bridges, Abdel Nader

SG: Devin Booker, Cameron Payne

PG: Chris Paul, Jevon Carter, Elie Okobo

Two-way: Ty-Shon Alexander

@offset

I'm not sure what the Suns are going to do with their remaining 2-3 open slots on the roster but it's looking like the Suns should have kept Frank Kaminsky for depth and trade purposes.

I'm thinking I was wrong about letting him go unless the Suns have something better planned.

SF/SG look to be the thinnest spots, though an insurance PG might be in order. Saric and Smith will back up at center.

It would help tremendously if we could work out a sign and trade with Baynes.

I thought the Suns had to renounce the cap hold on Baynes. Can they still trade him or re-sign him?

The Suns have to add another point or combo guard. They can't just go with Cam Payne and Carter.

Okobo is really not a point guard.

I don't want Booker thrust into this role if someone is out.

I believe they are hoping to do a S&T with him, but I wouldn't be shocked if they end up bringing him back.

I'm good either way but I wouldn't mind bringing him back since they let Kaminsky go. Suns could use another center.

Either would be fine with me. Though we still do need to find a scoring and facilitating guard off the bench.

So if we had to pick between Barnes and Saric, who do we sign? It would be great to sign both, but that seems like a financial stretch.

I’ll say Saric.

I'd pick Saric but the Suns need both. They still need to add depth to the roster.

I suspect Baynes won't cost much and based on the type on money that is left out there I don't think Saric is going to be all that expensive either. So I could definitely see both.

That being said I feel like Saric is the more valuable player for us to keep around. Baynes shouldn't be more than a backup for DA playing like 15-20 minutes per game.
