Coyotes or DBacks Stadium Site?

It's finally happening. A mega entertainment area is being built on the Salt River lands. Ironic it's location considering its close to where the Cardinals stadium was supposed to go.

This thing is massive. Stretching from Tempe Marketplace to basically Casino Arizona

Phoenix Rising is getting a real stadium and "a big focus on professional sports". So which stadium needy team is jumping ship? Coyotes or Dbacks?

The Dbacks have been wanting a super complex like this for some time, modeled after what the Braves have.

I don't believe they are long for Chase Field

They would be cutting their own throats, attendance wise. This would eliminate a huge portion of the Valley for weeknight games. Traffic on the 202 East is bad already.

Exactly... Putting a baseball stadium in that location would not at all be attractive from a traffic perspective.

Henderson contacted them. They can't move out of Maricopa County for a number of years, and would be stupid to move to a much smaller market (less than half the size of Phoenix area)

This is 100% correct. Had the pleasure of talking to a Braves executive during a game in Atlanta, and he said the Dbacks really studied the new Braves entertainment district tied to their stadium. That complex is very impressive and would be a great draw for the valley
