What a mixed bag of goods. Betting has built NFL into the financial success that it is and a player bets and the sky is falling. :biglaugh:

I’m told Shaw has not been around the team or the Cardinals facility since being placed on IR in August. Still, stunning that a player is suspended for gambling.

NFL also said there was no evidence Shaw's teammates, coaches or players on other teams were aware of betting.

That’s BS. Speaking as a degenerate gambler all we do is talk about our bad beats. If he doesn’t bet on or against the cardinals i don’t get what the big deal is. He has the same amount of inside info on other teams as the local beat guys.

Hope, that when he's cleared to play, he signs with the Raiders. It would make it easier to bet. :)

P.S. The no bet rule is stupid, unless you're betting on your team's game.

The reason why the League hyperreacts against gambling is because the dudes who stand to gain financially can simultaneously influence the outcome of games and kill the credibility of the sport.

That said: It is pretty ironic that we sign a dude & watch him wind up on IR only to have him suspend d & unable to play. (Not exactly flawless personnel mgt).
