First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. Arizona time
What you've pointed out is an excellent reason for giving a bunch of starts to . . . Kevin Cron, who is sitting on the bench. And has a lot more potential than Lamb and Walker together.Lamb is still going to get starts before the season is done. No way Lovullo had him gathering dust on the bench. Additionally the Dbacks are done so it isn't like playing him is going to hurt..

Even if Lamb "gets hot", every GM knows that he would be a horrible investment.Except by your own observations Lamb is the veteran so he will start ahead of Cron. The argument could be made that you hand the rest of the year to Lamb, hope he gets hot and try and sucker someone into trading for him (I have no idea what his contact status is).
But wait, as the thunder starts in the Valley, the D-backs
still have some life vs. the hapless Marlins.
A hit, a bad throw and another hit and a run is in. 5-4.
Tying run on 1B with no outs.
Who wants to lose this game less?
