Considering Mickey Mantle and Eddie Murray, it is hard to imagine that the Major League record
for switch-hit home runs in a game is only four in a season.

Of course, it is hard to imagine that our Ketel Marte already has three this early in the season.

Nick Ahmed with a 2-out 2-run HR into the wind in LF in the top of the 2nd.

And Carson Kelly follows with his first Major League HR back-to-back.

And Weaver, the pitcher, gives one a ride to RF, but not far enough.

3-zip D-backs to give Weaver a cushion. 'Must be Coors Field. :)

Almost got BBB from the 7-8-9 spots.

How many times has that been done.

Even back to back from the 7-8 is prolly pretty rare.

David Peralta with a 1-out 3-run HR (off the lefty) to make it 6-0.

He is, I think Steve said, 12-for-29 with runners in scoring position.

Walker follows with a double and Flores doubles him home.

7-0 so far with still only 1 out in the top of the 3rd.

How sweet it is!

Weaver, the pitcher, with a sac fly in the 6th and it's 8-1.

8-1 after 6. Weaver is at 84 pitches. I would imagine TL will try to get another inning from him

Walker with his second double drives in a run in the top of the 9th and it's 9-2.

The star of the game is Weaver, who gave up 1 run on 3 hits in 7 innings.

Weaver pitched a fantastic game. A far cry from what I saw behind home plate last Sunday.

We got the better of the goldy deal. Weaver is already our number 2 and it's not even close. He's special

If he stays healthy, good deal for both teams

Kelly did well today also.

Goldy was 0-5, 3Ks

Don't go there just yet. Just like Godley before he got the yips, Weaver is capable of a gem every now and then, like tonight, but he is equally capable of a stinker, like we saw his last start on Sunday. At best he is a #4 or #5. He is only our #2 because post-yips Godley and 30-year-old rookie Merrill Kelly really don't belong in an MLB starting rotation, and Ray has really been struggling with control issues.

I still say we didn't get nearly enough in the Goldy trade.

3-0 His last 4 starts. Yeah last Sunday was a tough one but he is young and his stuff is damn good.

No team in MLB has more than 1 win more than Torey. And we have played tough competition, Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers, Padres, Braves, Pirates... It is a long season but Torey has gotten more wins out of this lineup than anyone could have ever predicted. He is manager of the year at this point, again. I don't get why some cannot see this. What are your qualifications as a manager? With anyone else we would be looking at 61 wins. Enjoy the ride while it lasts. He is not the problem.

Is it really him? Or are we just not built to contend with the High priced teams and the moves they are able to make later in the year? We have 1 player making more the 7 mil a year. The Doyers have 7 players making over 17 mil a year and we are 1/2 game out. Do the math, Torey is doing great with what he has do work with.
