Most of the surprises come from small school guys, players from non-top 5 conferences and players returning from injury. The very good, well-known players may benefit more from the scheme breakdown you usually see in the game distorting their performance.

I thought the Senior Bowl was called "Fox NFL Sunday." :D

Drama as Senior Bowl week begins: Western Illinois DT Khalen Saunders (AKA 320-pound backflip guy) just found out his fiancée went into labor in Chicago, I’m told. They’d discussed the possibility (she’s due Jan. 31) and agreed he needs to stay. Huge opportunity. Laser locked.

I really am looking forward to the QB performances. This may affect Cards trade possibilities. For a diluted QB class this year this does not look that godawful.

I guess one good thing about being furloughed is I can watch all the Senior Bowl stuff this week.

One indication you are growing old is when you forget that NFLN. and ESPN are covering Senior Bowl workouts in depth.

Realized it. Recording it. Whew!

I forgot about Minshew (who doesn't even get ranked in other draft lists). Can anyone here provide some positive or negative intel on him?

McSorley is a baby face, he looks like a high school kid, well spoken kid though.

If we wanted a Air Raid rookie QB in camp Gardner Minshew might be a worthwhile look.

I watched at least 6 games this year. I was just wowed. His mental capacity for the game is off the charts. Totally efficient with the ball and pocket presence. He never seems to miss. Goes through progressions with ease and always looking downfield or to dump receivers when pressured. Big enough at 6' 2" 220. Does not possess a cannon but can make NFL throws. Mastered the Mike Leach Air Raid system in 6 weeks as he transferred from East Carolina U. 2 year starter at ECU and 1 year at WSU. If nothing else K K could use him to teach system and be a more than adequate backup or clipboard carrier. I see him getting drafted mid rounds.

Thing I like about him most is he does not panic and lose yards. Everything is moving the sticks.

PS. Son of a coach which never hurts.

If you want another safe linemen similar to Mason Cole, look at Chris Lindstrom out of Boston College. Dude started every game, and has played RG and RT at a high level. Good size, good physicality and is a battler inside. Put him at RG next to Cole at C, and we are more consistent at those two spots. He has only played on the right side, so I am not sure how he would look at LG, but he would be a great addition up front.
