Today, I'm wearing my Victory Monday tie. It feels good, because it's been a very long time since I've gotten to wear it. Wins feel good — even if it's against potentially the least-talented team in the league who has been brutally crippled by injuries on both sides of the ball.

Winning feels better than losing. Once we have that out of the way, what can we take away from a game where we won the turnover battle 5-0 and only won by 10 points? A win by 10 points on the road is meaningful. It doesn't mean that we're good; it means that we're not godawful. This builds on what we've learned from two excruciating losses at home to mediocre teams in the Bears and Seahawks -- we've probably seen this team at its worst, but we're not going to win more than 4-6 games.

Chandler Jones, DE - Jones had a rough start after getting completely fooled by San Francisco's screen game. After Breida left the game, he was absolutely dominant.

Rodney Gunter, DT - Lead the defensive tackles with an astonishing 76 snaps. He's never gonna justify the praise leveled at him after he was drafted (the "next Eric Swann" nonsense), but he's managed to be consistent and is worthy of a contract extension this year.

Haason Reddick, LB - He played 107 total snaps yesterday between defense and special teams. One could easily imagine the trajectory of Reddick being similar to that of Calvin Pace -- a disappointing first contract with a team that overdrafted him followed by a solid career as a core player, but not a star, for some good defenses.

Larry Fitzgerald, WR - Age, Josh Rosen and Christian Kirk are combining to make Fitz almost completely irrelevant in this offense. He should be getting the looks that Ricky Seals-Jones is getting (who had an astonishing 6 targets and 0 catches). Does he have the desire to get on the same page with Rosen?

Josh Rosen, QB
- Tough outing for the rookie, but it ended with a result that got him smiling. Consistent overthrows are almost always a problem of poor footwork. He didn't seem to show this last week, so it's hard to say where and how the breakdown happened.

Mike McCoy, OC - A garbage-time touchdown dive saved David Johnson from this space. The last three games have seen the Cards jump out to relatively early leads that fade away. The early leads are (generally) to McCoy's credit. The fact that the Cards went 3-and-out on 5 of their 12 drives is not.

Glad to see Reddick get massive run and be productive. Dude is too athletic to keep off the field. The fact that he played 107 snaps and was productive at the end is a testament to his athleticism and potential.

If chase edmonds catches that swing pass out of the backfield, he would still be running. Terrible drop.
Absofreakinglutely ugh

He’s really shown nothing! I still think they need to activate TJ Logan & give him a shot, he’s got more wiggle & he’s got serious speed! But for whatever reason the staff is in love with Edmonds & they won’t do it. Ugh

It's because Edmonds is "their guy" while TJ and DJ are "BA's" guys. It seems to me--consciously or subconsciously-- that it's no accident that team Wilks is marginalizing "BA's guys" irrespective of talent level.

Instead of maximizing DJ's abilities and tailoring offense to him, they are trying to play him like Jerome Bettis. Their old school philosophy would be better for a Blount type RB and almost no top 10 RB in the league fits that description. Wilkes/McCoy are behind the curve and it's killing the team.

How about “dumpster fire package.” ;):)

I recall before the season saying we needed more experience at the backup RB position and was ripped by many. Even suggested Alfred Morris as a potential pick up. Hell, we should have kept Kerwynn.

Maybe but Josh threw it behind him so even if he caught it he would need to get his feet going in the right direction.

Totally agree!

Another reason Wilks is probably not the guy to lead this team! He preaches the best players play & keeps switching in & out guys depending on the day & his flavor of the week lol

Fitz drew triple coverage on the Kirk touchdown pass. His lack of production is more an indictment of McCoy's schemes than of him.

Under McCoy you would never know that David Johnson is one of the most dynamic players in the game.

1) This is nonsense.

2) Are we sure this is still true? What would it take to start reconsidering that opinion?

I think everyone on this board way overvalues DJ and said as much yesterday. He isn't elite and I would say he is merely good.

Andy Lee has been the best player through out the first 5 weeks. It is not a good sign if punter is your best player through 4 weeks.

I believe Wilks wanted him with the 3rd pick but Keim wanted Cole instead. Then they picked Edmonds 4th. It was in the Cards Flight Plan video. So yeah, Edmonds could be who Wilks wants in there.
