Agreed, I like him quite a bit.

However I doubt he is available, I think lucks injury is a much bigger deal than is being reported.

Wow:shocker:

Really? No disrespect, but I think that's ridiculous talk. Solid player, but if I'm looking at a QB past Palmer I'm asking myself one question. Do I think he's good enough to win me a Super Bowl. Nuff said

Why do you think he isn't, he has started like 4 games. How many qbs look like stars after that short of time? I can't think of any. But you can tell if they have potential, and brisset does.

Really I think he is very similar to dak.

Personally I'd take Jimmy G or McCarron hands down. But hey I'm no QB whisperer lol

The Cards would have the cap space potentially for Cousins or Jimmy... Palmer, Stanton, Gabbert (and Glennon reportedly). Keim prefers QB's in the league.

They can't seriously still be interested in glennon, he sucks.

I would much rather start gabbert then him.

Honestly, Cousins seems like the best choice. The 'Skins sure as hell don't want 'em, so signing 'em should be easy enough.

Brisset is in year 2 of a 3 year rookie deal, with the Colts having some ability to slap a 1 round tender on him after his third year

Very curious on the Colts POV is Luck returns mid year and plays well.

Do you hang onto Brisset as insurance in year 3 with the thought that you (i.e. the Colts) can place the highest tender on him and just let teams take him away?

Or -- do you trade him to the highest bidder this offseason (who would then sign him to a longer term deal)?

so many options

No and no

He's alright is he a star? Nope. This is a very deep QB class coming up in the draft I say make your move then.

But right now it don't matter who your QB is can't complete a pass when your o line can't keep guys off you

Here is the thought process...

1-Brissett meets the developmental QB requirements and has not shown any red flags. He is big, mobile and shows poise.

2-He probably costs a 2nd or 3rd, and maybe a conditional pick.

3-Cousins is 30 and will cost 23 mil per year.

4-Alex Smith is mid 30s and will cost 20+ mil.

5-Moving up in the 1st round to get a QB who we hope can be big, mobile, and show poise will costs us far more in terms of picks.

6-If you want, you can extend Brissett when you sign him to try and buy low on him.

No one viewed Cousins as anything more than a mid round backup until he showed he was something different. I believe Brissett may land in the same category. We have money invested in the defense, a shaky offensive line, and feature RB. The defense helps Brissett from trying to do too much. His athleticism mitigates the poor offensive line as we try and improve it. David Johnson helps take the pressure off of Brissett so he does not have to make all of the plays himself.

I can't tell if this is a great troll, or not. Here's what I'd say:

I'd want a 60% completion percentage or better. Brissett's college completion percentage was below 60%. Why did he go to two colleges?

I mean, I'd give up a 4th rounder for him, maybe. But to me he looks like Quincy Carter. I don't think he's leading you anywhere.

If anyone should know Brissett, it's Steve Keim (NC St.). Brissett was taken (#91) one spot ahead of CB Brandon Williams (#92). Interesting to see on SNF last night how connected Brissett is to Bill Parcells.

Hope we don't sign Cousins ever!

Cousin is not all that at all and it would be a huge plunder to acquire him... if he was so damn special, the Redskins would have made an effort by now, correction if he was considered just average in this QB starve league the Redskins would have done something

From Football Outsiders this week

When the Colts got the ball for the first time in the second half, they trailed by an 18-15 margin in what was still a very winnable game. The next time Brissett completed a pass for a first down, the Colts were down by 21 points, and that was his only first down of the second half. In the third and fourth quarters, he went 2-of-9 for 15 yards, while losing 21 yards on a pair of sacks, one of which resulted in a fumble that the Seahawks recovered and returned for a touchdown.
