Yeah, it looks interesting, except for the missing kid trope. I feel that's tired and worn out, though the rest of what the trailer had in store looks good. I might give it a shot.

I started watching this last night and I'm hooked. Already on the 6th episode.

So worth finishing? I just finished 5 and it's getting freaky! Worth pushing through it?

I only just finished Episode 2, so I'm savoring it, but I love it. Definitely seeing the Spielberg/Stephen King influences. By the end of the first episode I got Close Encounters/ET vibes.

It was good! Left a little open for next season. Freaky show at times but loved the 80s themed music and title scene.

Loved it. Can't wait for season 2 but it needs to be at least 10 episodes IMO.

Beyond the sun.
I wanted to like it, and tried. In the end it was too many child actors, too much Winona, and Matthew Modine has me asking for the last quarter century "Is he terrible at picking projects, or are the projects terrible because they picked him?". David Harbour was excellent and the reason for finishing.

I could see why people wouldn't like it, especially because of the child actors. But I thought the child actors were excellent, and I thought there was just the right amount of crazy Winona. And David Harbour was awesome. Show wouldn't have been worth watching without him.

If you grew up in the 80's watching E.T., Goonies, Moster Squad, or The Lost Boys, this show is for you! Love it!

I think it would appeal to the the fans that grew up in the 90's and later too, watching Eerie, Indiana and The X Files and even Super 8. And don't forget, the fans that grew up in the 70's...

Finished it last night. I wonder if they do a Season 2, will they continue this story, or will they make it an anthology series? It had a very "Twilight Zone" meets "Friday the 13th: The Series" vibe to it, so it could go either way. Also, the opening credits are my favorite thing on TV right now. Reminded me of the original "V".

Are you sure? Maybe it's changed in the last day or so but when I've looked into it I keep coming up with the same answers. Which is: No, it has not been renewed by Netflix but everyone expects it to happen. Matthew Modine declared there would be a second season a few weeks ago and many sites have taken that as gospel and reported it as such but the Duffers continue to say it hasn't officially been approved, at least as far as I can tell.

Duffers have confirmed it and it will be what they are calling a "sequel".
