Their OL and WR's are putrid. He should've wait to hit the market IMO.

Not for $18 mil/year. He wasn't going to get that as a FA.

Bradford, for his career, is unarguably the most overpaid QB in the history of the NFL.

You don't turn down $26 mil guaranteed IMO. I can't see anyone paying that anyway other than these idiots or the Rams.

Hell I would stand back there with the ball & with no Olineman & WRs for that kind of coin :D

He is the most overpaid QB ever which is why he can afford to take less for a better situation. Philly had the highest drop % in the league and Chip traded their best RB, WR and OL (maybe they just cut Mathis) before the season.

As for the Eagles they should've just franchised him and paid about 2m extra than his current AAV after this deal.

This is what happens when you paint yourself into a corner. The Eagles really didn't have any options. Let Bradford go and you're left with Sanchez. They can go QB in the draft but I don't see any on the draft board being game ready any time soon. 2 or 3 year projects most likely. There are zero free agents out there(meaning we're going to re-up Stanton for sure) and someone like Kaepernick is going to cost too much to draft for. Foles wasn't great but the Eagles were better with him than they were with Bradford. Now they're stuck with an injury prone inconsistent QB for the foreseeable future.

That's about one million guaranteed for every game he's won in his CAREER.

It's good to be Sam Bradford.

Is that what he is? If the goal is winning, Bradford ain't the answer IMO.

The problem is that in the current NFL, your QB is either worth 18 million a year, or like 4 as a backup. Unless the guy is playing on a rookie contract or an old veteran without a rich pedigree (Josh McCown) most people who start are getting paid. There just are not enough good QB's in the world, especially with the college spread being the preferred type of offense currently. If you have a guy who you think can be good (remember, #1 pick, played well in quite a few games early in his career, but ended up being injury prone) who is going to be put in an offense where he can be successful, you have to go for it. Hitting the reset button on QB is too painful.

Look at the numbers of who made what in 2014.

the NFL needs to start an education campaign for High School QB's....explain to them that their chances of getting in to the NFL are better if they play for a college running a pro style offense.
The effect wont be immediate, but in very short order all of the major schools will switch to a pro style offense....only takes a couple blue chip prospects saying,.. " sorry coach, your college style spread offense/your pistol offense/your wildcat offense,...is hurting my chances at a pro career,..so I am going to Booyah state instead"....
they will switch...and learn how to coach it.

I get that but it's insane paying a mediocre player that...but part of the problem is also the CBA that makes the cap go up what's seems to be $7-10 mil a year. Just like the NBA.

That's NEVER gonna happen!

Coaches are in the game to win at both levels & it gives them the best opportunity to score which leads to wins. Plus defenses at both levels for the most part have issues stopping the spread offense. Dreaming is free though oak:D

First he turned down the huge contract, played like doggy doo and looked like an idiot for passing on it--because no way was Philly then going to offer him a good contract--and now he gets the big contract. I think it is for less than originally offered before, but still...what a pack of idiots in Philly.

I think when you factor in dollars per down, J Russel and Ryan Leaf can challenge that claim.

If you take the money Bradford earned from his rookie contract and add up only the guaranteed money from his new deal, he will have made $104,000,000 for his career.
