ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Philadelphia Eagles were linked to Davante Adams during trade discussions with the Los Angeles Rams, though no deal ultimately materialized. The report comes almost three weeks after Philadelphia shut down trade talks with the Rams and Patriots centered around star wide receiver A.J. Brown. According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Patriots and Rams were making strong pushes to trade for Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. No deal has been reached as negotiations continue.
Eagles' GM Howie Roseman has made it clear that the Eagles would prefer not to trade A.J. Brown and will only consider a move if they receive what they view as fair value. While discussing deals with the Rams, Fowler reports that Adams became a player of interest to Philadelphia.
Brown has earned All-Pro honors, Pro Bowl honors, 1,400+ yards twice, and amassed 5,000+ yards receiving since joining the Eagles. Brown has been the subject of trade rumors, and that'll need to be addressed. Adams has gone over 1,000 yards receiving once since the 2023 season and had 60 catches, for 789 yards (13.1 avg) and 14 touchdowns on 114 targets for the Rams in 14 games last season.

At least two teams — the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams — in recent weeks discussed trading for Brown, whose frustrations in Philadelphia were a running subplot of the Eagles’ 2025 season.
A league source believed the Eagles were trying to get multiple teams competing for Brown before free agency began, but with an incredibly high asking price. Early on, the receiver market moved elsewhere, though, with the Buffalo Bills trading for DJ Moore and New England signing Romeo Doubs as free agency began. The Rams continued to wait and monitor Brown’s situation.

The Rams publicly acknowledged that they explored trading Davante Adams but ultimately decided against it. My sense is that multiple teams inquired about Adams, and a source on the player side believes the Rams and Eagles likely discussed him around the same time they explored trading A.J. Brown to the Rams. The exact nature of those talks is unknown, but Philadelphia was on the player's radar throughout all of this, even as Adams wants to continue playing on the West Coast.
