Can Buc play his natural position of S at a high level? Can he add the weight to be a stud ILB? IMO he's a solid player but can he be great at either?

If we can get real ILBs he would be a beast at safety and would match up great against TEs which has been a problem for us forever. A healthy Badger and him back there would really make our back end beast even with Bethal. The ILB, Pass Rusher and Center are my priorities.

People keep saying that but when was the last time he showed he can cover anybody? He hasn't been asked to do so, maybe he can but we have no idea if he can he's not been given that role.

We need another CB so we can play PP, the new CB and HB together with whoever the safeties are. I think Bethel is a safety, not sure he's even a starter. Jefferson is ok not great but he can play. Rashad I don't think he was healthy but he looked so slow and unathletic.

I think the ideal is get real ILB's and move Buc to safety but we really don't know how he'll do there. He was not a good cover S in college.

Which goes back to my point elsewhere, the Cards have to decide do they want to make another run with Palmer and an older team, or get young even it means a year or two of not making the playoffs. Palmer will still be the QB next year but if you change up the OL and get younger on the DL and other positions, you probably take a step back.

This team is 20-4 with Palmer recently, if they keep the core together we're picked 2nd behind Seattle next season and looking at another 11-12 win season if things go ok. But they have to decide do they think we can win it all next season, or not. If the answer is not, they may just decide to rebuild.

It's a tough decision, the contracts say what you said, stand pat and try to win it all next year. There's not a ton they can do as you said in Heroes and Goats. Unless they make a deal with Floyd or surprise and trade up in the draft somehow.

Which is where Ellingtons disappearing act really hurts us. Chris Johnson probably won't be back, but if AE had done anything after coming back, he might be tradeable in some sort of package. But he didn't and he isn't. So he better be better next year backing up DJ.

I have a friend who wants to bet we're not a playoff team next year. I said I'll let you know after FA because only then will I know if they're trying to do it or not. If we really clean house and get younger I am saying the team is willing to miss the playoffs to get younger.

I have no idea how we get a QB, and again young QB's and BA don't mesh well he's much more comfortable with a guy who's been around a few years that has tools he likes. He's just too demanding on QB's, most young guys can't handle it. Luck was the exception IMO.

Either Humphries or Cooper decides to be a professional, wins a starting job, and produces like a decent first rounder. (I think Humphries has the best shot)

The Cardinals sign/draft enough front 7 talent that Rucker/Gunter/Minter become sub players.

The Cardinals keep their secondary intact.

Shoot; you're right. I think I had this conversation with Chopper last week and just decided that because it should be easy to re-sign him we already have.

I think you need someone better than A.Q. Shipley to compete for a job. Our interior OL could either go through a massive facelift or just run it back. Iupati, Shipley and Watford are the only guys still under contract.

It'll be interesting to see whether they bring Sendlein and/or Larsen back or make a run at a free agent or invest another high draft pick.

You know, I am a homer for the Cards of course, but if D. Johnson becomes the fully-realized beast he seems capable of being, that alone could have a dramatic impact. I'm thinking of how much better John Elway looked in postseason games once Terrell Davis showed-up in Denver.

Dude is good and easily our 4th best player on defense behind our 2 All-Pro DBs and top five 3-4 DE. And yes, even better than Deone.

I don't think you know what my definition of OK is. It's what Jefferson is a good solid player who's not great. He does some things well but he's not a complete no brainer starting S in the NFL. In our defense he can start because we play so many DB's.

I don't think if he were let go, that he'd be a lock to be starting anywhere else next season.

You should expect to get a decade of high level play out of an offensive lineman taken in the first round. The Cardinals have busted on two of them in the last three drafts. Changes need to be make in the scouting department.

My guess is Larsen and a Larsen-esque RT gets brought in to compete. i doubt we spend more money on the line than that unless a top notch C becomes available. C might be the one spot the Cardinals will dump more money into on the offensive line.

I think his prediction is based on talk that DJ looked much better at LT in college than RT, talk that has been disputed by people who saw him often.

But there were reports about that when we picked him, that he was better on the left.

I never got that pick after seeing all the reports on DJ. I was fine taking a OT if we had him rated that high, just didn't seem he should have been rated that high,.
