“@mikejurecki: Something to watch in off-season workouts DE Kareem Martin getting a some looks at OLB. #AzCardinals”
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
I always thought that was the intention.
when training camp started arians mentioned tha martin(listed as 272 lb) must add weights to be effective in the defensive line
so his idea about martin was 3-4 de
but is possible this season they are switching to 4-3
Very highly unlikely. They hired Bettcher to maintain continuity from Bowles system. Bowles did run 4 man fronts at times but his base was still a 3-4. And by switching to a 4-3, there would be zero talk about Martin getting looks at OLB.
I doubt they go 4-3. Why would they when it worked for them with Bowles and that Blettcher worked with Bowles on the 3-4?
Yes but I assure you that Martin will not be playing OLB in a 4-3 scheme. He would either be an OLB in a 3-4 or a DE in a 4-3.our 3 4 defense has a moe closely look to 4-3 defense then any other 34 defense
the fact dan williams played just 37% of snaps indicate it
our 3-4 olb are more DE then olb

Then why is Jureki talking about him playing snaps at OLB? Because I just can't see him playing any snaps as a 4-3 OLB.he will play DE in 43 defense that they are going to run next season

The fact that Dan Williams only played in 37% of snaps is more indicative of us playing in the nickel package quite often. His snap percentage has no relation to a 4-3 base.
If we were moving to a 4-3, we wouldn't have gone after Lamar Woodley, who spent his entire career, minus last year, in a 3-4, we wouldn't be pursuing Brian Orakpo, Jurecki wouldn't have mentioned Martin getting looks at OLB.
Is Ta'amu not a NT? Also Peters is from a 3-4 in Atlanta along with Weatherspoon. Not to mention out best defensive player (Campbell) is by far best suited to play 3-4 DE and not 4-3 DT or DE.i think they will call it a 34 defense but it will be for the majority of the time a 4-3 defense
can u explein me so the recent signings
the addition of peters
redding
they are 4-3 guys
then the guy we have here
stinson rucker mauro.no one of them can play NT..

No way in hell Arians is switching to 4-3 just not happening. Specifically said nothing would change on D with the new DC.

Frosty Rucker was a 4-3 guy. Darnell Docket was a 4-3 guy. Redding, Peters...they can easily play 3-4 end in our 3-4 system. We don't run a Pittsburgh Steelers 2-gap system. Our DE's are one gap penetrators. Peters can also play on the nose which I'm certain he will at times because he is very disruptive. Unlike Dan Williams, Peters can be a 3 down lineman. Every one of our FA pursuits is perfectly fitted for the 3-4.
Is Atlanta switching this year, or is ESPN just giving me false info again?Peters was a DT and Weatherspoon was an OLB in their 4-3
