ok

I officially declare the Browns insane

I like Jim Dray. he is a journeyman player in the most positive sense of the word: hard working, dependable, etc

but it just seems like those guys are Vet minimum type players who you keep around for four years and you are glad you did --

not nearly $2 mm a year. oh well.

:biglaugh:

Good luck Jim Dray, appreciate the hard work and effort. Cards simply had to get better at the position.

Watched quite a few Texas Tech games and watched Jace Amaro line up a whole bunch in the slot. Impossible to cover. Could see something similar for Housler. He might be a huge mismatch in the slot.

The more you keep Housler away from playing a traditional TE role, the better. He's an oversized WR, and has been so close to breaking big plays in the past, but didn't due to primarly poor QB play or a few drops here and there.

Totally agree. To think that he might have been drafted as an inline TE is mind boggling. Will Eric Ebron be drafted as a traditional TE? Seems that all of the "new TEs" are not traditional TEs. Graham wants to be paid as a WR. Julius Thomas, Antonio Gates, Vernon Davis, et al are non traditional. Grading Housler as a blocker is a waste of time. Somebody, if not the Cards, will give Housler at least another year to become a commodity.

Good luck, Jimmy. Lots of haters here (for some reason--dude was a 7th round pick who mainly excelled on special teams--it's not his fault that he outplayed Rob Housler), but you kept your head down, worked hard, and earned a big second contract.

This is--honestly--what we should want for all our pending free agents. A contract like that may earn us a compensatory pick.

No question. A solid guy who contributed. Go back through old NFL drafts in the 7th round and find all the guys who got second contracts.

Maybe the money means the Cards have that winning patina about them that makes people pay up to get their ex players.

I like Jim Dray, hard worker and did as best as he could. VASTLY overpaid by the browns, but good for him.
