This is going to be interesting. Porter is exactly the type of free agent the Bidwills used to avoid. I'm very happy that they signed this guy.

Upgraded safety and OL. If we can find a good rook to replace Dansby we should be better IMO. I agree.

yup. And he doesn't even have to completely replace Dansby. Just a guy who can be solid in there. I liked what I saw out of Davis when he started getting some burn and if Brown can add anything, this D should be pretty solid for once.

couple that with a running game that improved by leaps and bounds last year and should only get better and Matt Leinart would REALLY have to suck for us not to challenge for what is still a pathetic division.

Paris Lenon is the weirdest of them all. I almost want to edit his face just so I dont get creeped out every time I post :|

better ?

Oh and big time sweetness on the Porter signing. Extremely happy. That really solidifies the OLB position, IMO.

I wouldn't complain about getting another OLB but we have a lot of potential and youth at the position already, IMO.

I expect to see Joey Porter on the 50 yard line the first time we see the Niners this year.

I want to see him talking, yapping, and getting into it with the entire Niners team.

This MUST have been the news Dockett was talking about on his twitter.

I still take a top flight OLB if there by some slim chance. Joey isnt young. Unless of course the team is THAT HIGH on Brown and Davis.

Agree, I definitely think we need to pick up an OLB in the draft and there are some good ones that will be there. Porter buys us some time on developing them.

No chance that we draft OLB this year. We only keep 4 of them active. Are we going to cut Haggans, Brown or Davis? The team went out and signed Baggs and is apparently very high on Washington. I think this year we'll keep 5 and maybe 6 but no more than 5 will be active. I expect to see us try and hide Washington on the PS again. Does anyone know if his is still eligible? That position is officially set for this year.

Yes he has. PFT has it.

Apparently he has self proclaimed the name of this defense "BIRDGANG". He has said it before but he shouted it in his latest tweet.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to our first Defense with some big talker/nasty douchebags!

Oh you can take that to the bank, we will draft LBS. In this type of defense you'll draft LBS every year.

Love the signing, can't wait to hear the details. I think this is a big piece to add and solidify our "D".

I have to agree. Unless some absolutely fantastic and highly rated player on the CARDS board is still left where ever they pick I dont think we pick one. Maybe a flyer on a guy they can stash like that kid who messed up his knee at the senior bowl. So other then a guy they could stash or a to good to pass up prospect I just dont see another rookie OLB in the cards.
