On the NFL wrapup show the topic was the NFC East and if they were still the powerhouse division. Deion said "No the NFC Champion wont be an NFC East team it will be either the Saints or Vikings. The host said "What about the defending champion Cardinals?" Neon said "Please, I am snoring on the cardinals"

Whatever the hell that means.

It is of no surprise Sanders is down on the Cardinals.

Flippin' Deion Sanders, and Michael Irvin are dragging that show down. Those two are un-watchable, and I need subtitles in order to understand 50% of what they say.

I am snoring on NFL Gameday, cause it sucks.

Whatever. Keep hatin', it helps with the motivation. I wonder if they will have Adrian Wilson on the show so he can stare down Sanders.

:D

Sanders has some sort of grief against the Cardinals because we have not signed Boldin to new contract. Ever notice how he keeps saying during highlights "pay the man" to certain players. Not like these players are making chump change.

Sanders is a mental shorty, but the entire Sports media absolutely disrespects the Cardinals. And that's OK. I was listening to Mike & Mike (both are morons) & they were discussing the best teams in the NFC. Last years cliche was that the Cardinals couldn't win outside their division & on the road. This year, the talking points are that we are not consistent enough to be mentioned in the same sentence with New Orleans & Minnesota. Keep it up guys! I love flying in under the radar. We have the offensive firepower to beat either of these teams. New Orleans D is average at best & the Vikings secondary can be had. Lastly, our D can neutralize both of their offenses. If Warner is fine, I like our chances.

Not sure I agree with that opinion. They're tough on third down and are #1 in passes defensed and interceptions. I wouldn't take them lightly.

I truly believe it is going to take 5 years of consistently winning for this to go away. Unfortunately Warner will not be around that long.

It just seems like everytime the media talks about us, they always have to throw a caveat in there first.

I just dont care what the national media says. Personally, I think Kent Somers and Darren Urban are much more competent to analyze the Cards than anyone else. And both these guys were around for the bad times.

It's getting to the point where I can hardly watch any NFL pre or post game show. Football Night in America-are you kidding me??, CBS is bad, Fox is worse and ESPN as many have said, is the great satan.

Now even Eisen is starting to get on my nerves with his smugness. I do ok with Woodson, Dukes, Billick, Sharpe & Baldinger is one of my favorites. Mooch=meh

today's not the best day to predict any long term plans for Warner but the BEST QB in the league right now is 40 years old. Fitz, Hightower and Wells are all very young and the next 2-3 years should see continued growth and success with the more balanced offense that has finally started to find it's way.

Put Warner with a Vikings like offense I don't see why he couldn't play until '11. '07, '08, '09, '10 & '11 would be a nice little block of success if the Cardinals maintain what they've been doing or better.

Far-fetched perhaps but not out of the realm.

While Warner is a work-out-aholic, and it amazing shape for a guy his age, he doesn't have the frame Brett Farve has, and Farve doesn't have 28 kids running around his house at home.

I don't think Warner wants to, or could stay in the game any longer than he is planning. No dis-respect to Warner of course. He gets massive kudos for still playing at this level, at his age, right now.

The line-up I would choose is:

Eisen
Woodson
Dukes

Perfect.

Portland Oregon these days.
Part of the national media's problem is that they have to make predictions, and feel judged by those predictions. With the Cardinals, every single one of them was made to feel a fool by the 'one and done' insistence every week. Now they hate to say we'll lose -- because they fear being made fools of again -- but they hate to say we'll win for exactly the same reason. Hence snide comments without actually making predictions.

The nice thing is, I don't think the Cards themselves give a damn what the media says. They KNOW who they are.

My exact thoughts. I can stand Sanders at times but Irvin is a waste of oxygen and the two together does make it unwatchable.

I love this team.. but be honest, they ARE terribly inconsistent.. if you're a prognosticator for your day job.. how would you like to predict this team? lol

Do you buy stocks based only on their performance for the last two months?
Right up until this run.. this franchise has been a model of inconsistency.. even during this run, the play has been horribly inconsistent.

It's unwatchable and that's exactly why it sucks. Both Irvin and Sanders are pretentious, has beens that think wayyyyy to highly of themselves, living on past glories and actually add NOTHING duri9ng the show...no one cares what they have to say!
I can't watch it, but the other choice is that terrible Keith Olberman who can't say 2 words without some God awful joke while talking up the highlights. Both shows just plain suck.

In fairness, I think someone would have to go way out on a limb for us to say we are in the company of Minnesota or New Orleans at this point. We'll get a chance to force our way into or out of the discussion in a few weeks.

The great thing however, is just like last year, the fact that its impossible for anyone to give us any recognition at all is like a manah from heaven. Its shocking how after last years demolition of the pundits, this team still gets no respect or attention whatsoever. I think it only works to our advantage.

If I'm expecting a return within 2 months? Maybe.

But I don't think a stocks/NFL metaphor is accurate. In the NFL it's all about who's hot and when they are hot. The Cardinals are one of the hottest teams right now. The first 3 games of the season will mean essentially nothing in analyzing which teams might advance come playoff time. A team that's 6-1 going into the playoffs would be a strong consideration.

Right now, the Cardinals are not inconsistent. They are consistently winning and haven't had a losing season since '06. Going on 3 years of good football isn't going to turn the franchise around completely but the perception of this team has certainly changed for the better.

Who would argue that the perception hasn't changed?? What we've done with Whiz at the helm has been a big change from the decades of misery, and many - virtually all, media "experts" realize this. However, that doesn't mean that we are worthy of being talked about in the same breath as many of the elite teams in the game today. We have improved - that fact can't be denied. However, from where we started, improvement really doesn't equate to front-page headlines... It just means we are better than teams that produced the worst franchise in all of pro sports. We have a very, very long way to go before that dog-poo is permanently wiped off our shoes...
Further, we are about to see what this team is truly made of over the next 3 games. On the road in TENN will be an extremely tough game. Home against arguably the best performing team in the NFC (Vikes), and then the Monday nighter @ SF. I think people would be wise to table any discussion of the Cards being a "better" team, or a team that should receive praise from every stupid media "expert", until we get thru these next three games. The "old" Cards would go 0 & 3 and fall back to mediocrity. Let's see if this team is worthy of the praise so many here place such great value on.
