Kazmir is 5 years younger and more importantly (IMO), further away from payday, but if I'm thinking that my team is one starter away from a shot at the WS, I'm still going with Santana. An ERA of 3.33 last season to go with a 1.073 WHIP (Kazmir posted a 1.379), ERA+ of 130 (same value as Kazmir last season) to go along with 235 punchouts. And that was considered a down year. His performance over the last six seasons in mindboggling, I don't think anybody comes close to what he has done in that timespan. If I had the choice (where as the Diamondbacks don't have a realistic shot at either, really), I'm cashing in with the sure thing.
