Jun. 7—MITCHELL — The 2026 Mitchell Area Community Triathlon took place on Saturday, featuring 45 individuals and three relay teams taking on the 28-kilometer (17.4-mile) course.
Sioux Falls' Kevin Mitchell, age 56, came in first overall and topped the 25-person male division in a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 28 seconds, while Kathy Grady, 60, also of Sioux Falls, was the top finisher in the 20-person female division and was eighth overall in 1:19:01.
The top finisher from the Mitchell area was 17-year-old male Colin Pickett, who was sixth overall in a time of 1:18:40. Lisa Larson, 54, paced females from the Mitchell area, coming in third in the division and 14th overall in 1:23:40.
