I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You DON'T pass on a stud RB to take a lineman, NO MATTER WHAT YOU NEED!!! Did we notlearn from LT and LD. I remember watching the draft and seeing Peterson fall to us and drooling...until I heard us announce Levi Brown. Is Levi a welcome addition; yes. Does he make us better; yes. Could he be a solid fixture on this line for a decade; yes. Is he a once in a decade game breaker RB like AD.....NO!

I heald my comments when we passed on DJ to fill a need at CB with Rollee...how'd that work out!

THANK YOU!!!

I, like others, believed he was the best player available. In fact, I SHOUTED to everyone before the draft that Peterson was going to be Hall of Fame material in this league. And that, if he fell to us, we had to -- pull the freaking trigger!!! And we didn't. And I was upset.

And who cares anymore.................. ME!! I care! I will never get over it!!!

Didn't you already start a thread on the other board for this exact topic?

Enough already.

We made the right decision. This team doesn't need Adrian Peterson, and we won't need another running back for awhile. Levi has played excellent when healthy, and I'm sure he'll continue to play well we he returns from his injury.

No its smart thinking.

Actually, I'd say just the opposite.

I said it predraft, and I'll ay it now: AP should have been our choice. To use a word you, Shane, use way too often, it was "STUPID" of the Cards to not draft AP when he was sitting there at number 5. It's not even about Levi. It never was. When there is a talent like AP available -- you take it. End of analysis. IMO.

Just like we didn't need LT when we picked LD out of need and he played excellent as an all pro guard...hmmmmm! GO GRAVES!

Nope. That talent doesnt guarantee anything but an entertaining Sunday. Like I have said beore how many playoff wins does LT have? How many years did the best RB in football history(Sanders) live in mediocrity?

Grabbing that talent means nothing. You need to build a team! That starts in the trenches.

If Big turned out to be a good tackle (which is what I believe Levi will be), then I wouldn't mind the pick. We had got a hall of fame running back who's under thirty, and a POS offensive line in desperate need of a tackle.

We have a HOF running back whos under 30 and is in the top 5 in the NFL in rushing.

Not to mention, running back is probably the easiest position on the field to fill. A tackle is a much more valuable commodity and has a much more profound effect on the game.

What good would an all-pro RB do behind a crap ass line? Spilled milk IMO. It all comes down to nothing. AP is a stud obviously, but I don't see him righting the ship here. Here, AP would be injured... Constantly. Warner and Matt prove untimely examples.

no, no, no. coachella was in may. we were distraught at the time of the draft. today we just kept commiserating at a sports bar watching the vikings/bears game.

really? how many years did we draft rbs? how easy was it to fill? how much money did we have to pay edge? easy to fill? hardly. that's an nfl myth these days.

We had the right pick. A good RB will look great behind a good OL. A great RB will look average or even less than average behind an awful OL. See what Gore is going thru with his line hurt this year. Wasn't he tearing up the league last year?

let me ask this . . .

how much has levi brown contributed to our success so far this season? very little. not b/c of his talent, but b/c he's hurt. i understand that's not his fault. what i will say is this - our oline is not putrid without him. if edge can look this competent, how AMAZING would peterson look? i say great! and he'd be the homerun hitter we're missing. i guarantee you we'd be scoring more, regardless of bad breaks we've received this year, with peterson taking some snaps. yes, he's that good.

Sorry, I should've said that it's easier to fill when you have a top notch offensive line. A good offensive line is a necessity if you want to have a good running game (unless your running back's name is Barry Sanders), but a good running back is pretty useless without a good offensive line. Plus, your running back is only going to be touching the ball around 30 times a game, whereas your franchise tackle is going to be involved in every offensive play. While no positions are "easy" to fill in the NFL, running back is the easiest one.
