I watched the show all the time...My sister's girl scout troup got invited to the show, and my mom helped out with the troup. Fortunatley, there was nobody to babysit me, so I got to go on the show(I was 4 or 5 years old), I found a seat in the first row, but my mom made me move up and sit in the back with her...Of course that day they gave out Landmo bags to the first row(damnit mom.

Also, my mother used to work at Legend City. She was best friends with the owner's daughter back when they were teenagers...I don't know why they still proscasitnate about building an amuzement park in Az...The water parks owned by the Kenney family seem to do very well.

Since I was a rural Arizona native, W&L was huge for me. In today's corporate conglomerate ownership of tv stations, the story of KPHO is an important one.

While growing up in eastern Arizona, we had eight channels (all over antenna) until I was about 10-11 and then we got a few more (WGN, WTBS, etc). KPHO had a lot of syndicated shows that I grew up watching, I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke at lunch time during the summers. After school it was a steady stream of Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Alvin and the Chipmunks, etc. At one point, Ladmo had an afternoon show, that consisted of him introducing Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry etc.

The Wallace and Ladmo Show was amazing as a kid and Phoenix was such a far-off place. I never got a Ladmo bag, but the show will always have a special place in my heart.

Oh, and btw, Gerald was a male! Pat McMahon played him. (Although, his character was pretty "confused" it seemed! I remember asking my mom if Gerald was a boy or a girl when I was a kid! LOL!)

Gerald freaked me out when I was a kid and then I ran into McMahon at a Suns game - as a adult - and I still got the heebie-jeebies

From what I understand Pat was the nicest guy in the world too
