He is a vested veteran and isn't subject to waivers.

So he instantly becomes a free agent and can sign wherever he wants.

$5 million in additional dead money I think accelerates into this season and can't be rolled over. We save a little less than $8 million in salary and $2 million in roster bonus (which he was unlikely to make, anyway).
