Gary LaRocque is my choice since he comes from St. Louis and would be a good fit to work with La Russa. On a side note, Hal Morris would be interesting only due to the fact that his father was my pediatrician when I was a kid. I remember going in there and see all the newspaper clippings in 1990 when he was a rookie.

With Tony LaRussa in charge of the "big picture", having a traditional GM is too many cooks in the kitchen. The Diamondbacks need to hire an operations officer to negotiate contracts and handle the daily paperwork involved in running the team.
