What does it mean? That a player at the combine in shorts has similar numbers to a great player's numbers in shorts at the combine? I guess it's not nothing, but posting it the way you did is an attempt to directly correlate player to player. RAS does nothing to do that. RAS can be nice in choosing one prospect over another, if you have two players you like equally. That's where I feel its use is, NOT in saying one player is like a pro bowl NFL player. That will always get a "Child, please" response from me.

Be honest. Those RAS comparison posts are meant to be somehow definitive. Don't split hairs--back up what you post and say you value RAS highly.

I noted with interest that Aaron Glenn, new Jets’ coach, has said his first goal is to build the correct team culture. That resonated with me because it’s precisely what Ossenfort & Gannon chose to do. They passed on some players with more apparent talent to get players with the right attitude. I think this played a significant role in the Cards outplaying the talent on their roster. By continuing this policy they firmly believe the team will continue to exceed expectations. So expect some potential surprises in the draft.

For once in the draft, I think there are a lot of players I'd be fine with. That's probably an effect of us picking in the middle of the first rather than higher up in the draft. Also the depth of this draft and having to pick through the chaff of first-round talent to find the Big John wheat. I have less specific player concerns than position concerns (as in, don't draft a S, OG, or an ILBer here, please). Otherwise, I think there's only one "don't draft him" player I have no interest in. I of course want us to draft Nolen if he's there, but we probably won't. I don't want us to trade down, but am open to trading up for a targeted player.

all the draft "experts" keep saying there are only 12 / 14 / 15 first round grades this draft, but then through round 3 the grades are pretty similar

so i totally expect to see a guy taken at 25 that is currently ranked like 50 -- and vice versa. Some of that happens every draft, but it feels like the volatility after pick 10 will be higher.

as an example: Jalen Milroe accepted an invite to the draft. Usually those are for day 1 guys -- maybe a first thing day 2. I didnt have Milroe in the first 40 picks

FWIW I think they've increased the number of guys that come to the draft, so there are people in the green room across all three days.

amen - we're not foaming at the keyboard demanding we draft this or that - it is weird lol - monti and sears heading in already having secured what this draft is loaded with - opens up all kinds of bpa - a drafting style traditionally more suited for teams without gaping holes

It's not about stats, it's about traits. I see a guy that wins mostly with speed, that has mediocre arm length and not much in the way of technique that's been playing at 245lbs.

He may well be a very good NFL player eventually, there are just guys a like more in a class stuffed with guys that have similar levels of talent.

If we just drafted PRWR then Collin Oliver would be going round 1.

That's a fair point, and I do agree that it is not only about stats (which is why I have Mykel Williams and Shemar Stewart ranked so high), but there is certainly something to be said about how he have managed those win rate-stats in the SEC. I don't even think he have always been deployed in the most effective way, and I see the aforementioned wide 9-role as playing to his strength.
