I'm with you Dawg.
I don't think we are in reach for QB mode, but if one fell into our laps, I think they become BPA. The only guys I would take over the top 3 QBs are: Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Robinson, Matthews, and probably Barr.
Those are BPAs for the Cardinals based on talent and need.
1) Clowney. Best player in the draft. Most likely to be a Hall of Fame type talent of this draft and best defensive lineman to come out in a long time. Forget what the naysayers have stated, I watched him for 3 seasons and he's the best college lineman I've ever seen by a wide margin. And that includes Terrell Suggs. Clowney is on a whole strata above T-Sizzle. He's the type of player that you change your defense for, but he's talented enough to play either 3-4 OLB or 4-3 End. He also probably could play 3-4 End but that would be a waste.
2) Mack. As much as I love Clowney, Mack is going to be a perennial Pro Bowler and would be a monster fit in our defense. In the back of my mind, I contemplate trading up for him. He's going to nearly always get double digit sacks and should post at least 3-4 15+ sack seasons.
3) Watkins. He'll quickly be in the pantheon of Johnson, Bryant, Gordon, and Green. He is an amazing blend of size, speed, quickness and hands. He's a homerun threat who also does the little things well.
4) Robinson. I think this guy is going to be very good, the kind of LT that can dominate in both phases of the game. His trajectory is literally best LT in the NFL. I think he's that good.
5) Matthews. He's a drop off from Robinson, but he's the type of player that you draft him and 15 years later he's still a very good starter on your offensive line.
6) Barr isn't in the same class as Clowney or even Mack, but that might be a function of not playing defense until two years ago. His ceiling is very high, and I could easily see him in the same conversation as Clowney and Mack five years from now. If some way he fell along with the three QBs, no question I take Barr.
