Jake starts the 2nd half with 2 picks including a left handed throw that rivals his infamous behind the back TO and the hit Coakley for the TD from your endzone play he did here.

shanahan was screaming at him in the first half for not running on one play and then taking a sack late in the half, he may kill him now.

He was actually playing quite well before the 2 picks, it is amazing the things that pop into his head during games though.

It is amazing someone actually still pays him.

I want to see the stat on passingyards in the pocket vs on rollouts, I think he's completed 2 balls from the pocket all game and both were bad throws the Wr made nice catches on.

Then on the big 3rd down he throws to a CB playing WR(Bailey) who is double covered?

He made a hell of a throw on the deep ball to Lelie though, but the decision process is still quite lacking.

What does Denver pay him? 49 million total?

Forget the precise amount but they have a large option to pick up after this year I believe. They're already debating on the Bronco board whether they will pick it up.

But let's face it Jake is LIGHT YEARS better than their other QB's. the problem they have is the only backups on that roster who can run that offense are Mauck and Van Pelt(I think one is on PS) and they're both rookies. Kanell is just not mobile enough, so WHEN Jake gets hurt again(they ran him more tonight than in most games last year), they have to change the whole offense for Kanell.

He is exciting, gotta give him credit, that game was 45-50 point game for Denver if not for Jake throwing those picks. KC couldn't stop them.

aahhmmmmm..

And what was the final score again?

Who won the game?

Will you ever let the Jake thing go, Russ??? :D

I didn't see all the game, fell asleep through part of it. But I did wonder....why didn't Green utilize Josh more with designed runs, etc, like Shanahan does with Jake?

Jake is what he is. High risk, exciting and when not forced to try and do everything himself...generally a winner overall.
I'd personally rather watch Jake play than a Kent Graham-type any day.

That play was just hysterical, that's why I posted. Specifially after the play when Jake is sitting there like a scolded schoolkid in the principal's office, it's his 8th year and he thinks he's Garo Yepremian :)

as to why Green didn't do that with Josh, and why we didn't do that with Jake, I refer you to today's injury report, Jake Plummer sore right hand, sore left wrist, banged up shoulder. Guys built MUCH better than Jake get hurt all the time taking shots running around like that, they're called RB's, you can't operate an offense like that in the NFL and keep your QB healthy.

Talking about injuries Sean Andrews who was Philadelphia's #1 pick (from Arkansas) broke his leg early in the game and is done for the year. A really nice young man who I have met. We were sort of lucky that the primary running back up for St Louis was not able to paly after an early injury. I have thought for us to win a game we had to play over our heads and the other team must have a lot of turnovers. That is sort of what happened except we could not capitalize on the turnovers. Not once. We are not going to be getting that many turnovers in the future and we were beaten more than the score indicates. They could run at will and the sort slant in pass was there all day long. I am still left wondering about McCown but as he is very much a rookie it will be late in the year before we know if he is a keeper. In the NFL there is no moral victory in my mind. You either make the playoffs or you do not. Our young guys got some experience. Fitz looked very good. We really hurt on the defensive line. Zip pass rush. Way to many penalities!!!!!!!!!!!!
