With a name like Yoeilin Cespedes, you're supposed to hit for some power.
That's what it feels like when considering the future of this Boston Red Sox infield prospect, at least, because his name sounds a lot like long-time slugger Yoenis Cespedes.
So far this season at High-A Greeneville, Yoeilin is finally growing into his power.
He has 20 doubles, a triple and 15 home runs through 69 games. That gives him a .498 slugging percentage and an .819 OPS.
Last season at Single-A Salem, he hit 10 homers in 110 games.
So at this point, Yoeilin is blossoming as a young slugger.
He's just 5-foot-8, but at 20 years old, he has a strong lower half, and it's clear that's helping him get to his power:
There's just one quirk to this whole thing, and that's his name and his family relation to the former big leaguer Yoenis Cespedes.

Is Yoeilin Cespedes related to Yoenis Cespedes?
Believe it or not, there's no record of a relation here.
Yoeilin is the son of a former baseball player and softball player, but they don't have any known connection to the family of Yoenis Cespedes.
Yoenis does have a younger brother, Yoelqui, but nothing shows them to be related to Yoeilin.
It's just a fascinating coincidence to have these 'Y' names with a couple of powerful dudes with the last name Cespedes.
