If not for the incompetent Dave Stewart and signing Tomas to that ridiculous contract, JD Martinez very well could still be on the Diamondbacks.

As of right now, JD is 3-14 with 4 strike outs and 0 HRs. Not blowing it up yet.

Can't say much about goldy either as he is 0-8 with 5 strikeouts. Ouch!

Wow, with that thinking, the Diamondbacks might as well give up on Goldy, who has not recorded a hit yet. Chase Field was perfect for jd and he sure would of helped this offense like he did last year. Tomas signing really screwed up this team financially.

It was a smart move by ARZ. Had Tomas refused the assignment he would have forfeited the remainder of his contract. Unfortunately he accepted the assignment because he’s not a complete moron.

Yeah, it was a very smart move. In the off chance a team claimed him, or he refused, that freed the Dbacks. But now not on 40-man roster, knowing that he's not going anywhere.

It’s good to have a front office making wise choices. Gives us hope going forward.

Who knows, maybe some REALLY desperate AL team needing a DH may give us a call. If he is strictly just asked to hit then he’s ok, he’s just bad at everything else.

The way we’re hitting we might as well bring him back up. Literally nothing to lose
