The D-backs have placed Yasmany Tomás on outright waivers. If he clears waivers, it will remove him from the 40-man roster.

According to the article, given his major league service time, Tomás could refuse his outright assignment to the minors, but doing so would result in forfeiting the remaining money on his deal, which is unlikely.

Can't say much about goldy either as he is 0-8 with 5 strikeouts. Ouch!

Wow, with that thinking, the Diamondbacks might as well give up on Goldy, who has not recorded a hit yet. Chase Field was perfect for jd and he sure would of helped this offense like he did last year. Tomas signing really screwed up this team financially.

Lovullo on Tomás : off the 40 man “not a dead end street” will be treated like any other minor leaguer with a chance to get called up. Has to work on defense and approach at plate

Yeah, it was a very smart move. In the off chance a team claimed him, or he refused, that freed the Dbacks. But now not on 40-man roster, knowing that he's not going anywhere.

It’s good to have a front office making wise choices. Gives us hope going forward.
