CLEVELAND - Every available Yankees pitcher, except Fernando Cruz, saw action in Monday night's 10-inning win against the Guardians.
Back at Progressive Field on Tuesday night, manager Aaron Boone feels his bullpen is in good shape for the middle game of this series, and he's got the added benefit of ace Gerrit Cole starting.
Closer David Bednar threw 27 pitches over 1.2 innings to close out Monday's 7-5 win, and perhaps Cruz gets the call if the Yanks are in a save situation tonight.
"He's put out so many fires for us in the biggest spots in a game,'' manager Aaron Boone said of Cruz, who could also wind up back in a key leveraged spot in the seventh or eighth inning if necessary.
Bednar, Brent Headrick and Tim Hill each pitched both Sunday and Monday, with Bednar carrying the biggest workload.
