NEW YORK - Due to a forecast of severe weather in the area, the start of Saturday night's 7:35 p.m. game at Yankee Stadium between the Red Sox and Yankees is being delayed.
Also, the Yankees announced that lefty-hitting catcher Austin Wells was placed on the 10-day injured list due to "cervical headaches.''
It was a short time away for fellow lefty-hitting catcher J.C. Escarra, who was recalled from Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre less than a day after being optioned.
The Yanks called up right-handed hitting catcher Ali Sanchez, who is in Saturday night's starting lineup, due to catch Will Warren.
