Yankees' Aaron Judge resides among Ruth, Mantle, Gehrig on special NYY franchise history list originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Aaron Judge doesn't have to convince too many people just how special he is.
But anyone who needs convincing still should look at this historic New York Yankees all-time record list.
The board came across social media when Judge homered in the bottom of the first inning on Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium against the Los Angeles Angels.
That was Judge's 89th first-inning home run in his career, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
That's third place in Yankees history. Judge already ranks ahead of Lou Gehrig, who had 86 such homers.
Second place on the list is Mickey Mantle, who had 103 of them.
First place, as you'd expect, is Babe Ruth. He hit 126 home runs in the first inning of his career with the Yankees.
Most first-inning home runs, Yankees history:
Babe Ruth: 126
Mickey Mantle: 103
Aaron Judge: 89
Lou Gehrig: 86

Judge still has time left in his career, and he could keep climbing this list, at least to chase down Mantle.
The 6-foot-7 slugger came to MLB later than most all-time greats, and so his overall counting stats aren't quite as high as you might expect.
But when it's the first inning, Judge is as dangerous as pretty much anyone who ever played the game.
