Aaron Judge has a chance to do something that the greatest sluggers in MLB history never accomplished.
All the 6-foot-7 New York Yankees slugger has to do is finish with at least 50 home runs this season.
Sure, easier said than done, but Judge has done it before, and he's currently on pace to hit 54 homers this season, according to MLB.com.
And the key is this: The most times a player has ever hit 50 homers in a season for a career is four. Judge is one of four players tied at four.
If he hit 50 homers again, it'd be his fifth 50-HR season, an unprecedented feat.
Four players, including Judge, have hit 50 home runs in a season four times. The others are Babe Ruth, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire.
Alex Rodriguez did it three times, and no one else did it more than twice.

The only time Barry Bonds did it was in the year he hit 73 home runs. Henry Aaron never hit 50 homers in a season.
It's one of the rarest power feats, and in this modern game of absurdly potent pitching, it feels like it shouldn't be possible for Judge to be the one setting this record.
By the same token, this is what Judge does. He's making the case as one of the most dangerous hitters in the history of baseball.
If he were to set this record, it'd be just one more feather in his cap. Everyone already knows how special he is, but breaking all-time MLB marks is even more impressive, and Judge has a great chance to do that this season.
