In 2024, Aaron Judge and Mookie Betts were opponents in the first Yankees-Dodgers World Series in 44 years.

In two days, the stars are set to appear on a special live stream on YouTube and X alongside baseball Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr. and CC Sabathia.

Play Ball Live” is scheduled to stream at 4 p.m. ET from the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. The stream will be produced by MLB Network and co-hosted by network personality Harold Reynolds.

“Griffey, Sabathia and Reynolds will offer their keen wisdom on how to improve as a player, share instructional tips and memories from their playing days, and life lessons learned along the way,” MLB said in a press release. “Youth players and coaches are encouraged to join the stream, ask questions and interact with the (players).”

The stream will try to generate interest in MLB’s “PLAY BALL Weekend,” which will feature locally-based events designed to increase participation in baseball and softball. The events are hosted by major- and minor-league teams in their respective communities, as well as those that serve four professional “partner leagues” of MLB: the American Association, Frontier League, Atlantic League and Pioneer League.

The star players have other obligations that night. Betts and the Dodgers are hosting the Angels at 7 p.m. on June 5. Judge and the Yankees have a road game in Boston.

“I want to keep sharing my knowledge and teaching the game to the next generation,” Griffey said. “It’s important for me to give back and try new things like this show on Friday. I’m a big fan of CC, both as a player and person, and Harold is one of my closest friends in baseball. We’re going to have some fun and hopefully pass some things on to the kids who love our game.”

“When this opportunity came my way with Ken and Harold, I quickly said yes,” Sabathia said. “My son Carter will be participating in the Breakthrough Series, so to get the chance to help him and his teammates out while also giving back on the show will make for a great day. I really just want to find out how Jr. developed one of the prettiest swings this game has ever seen.”
