A trio of WWE stars paid tribute to a classic meme tonight on WWE RAW.
During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, El Grande Americano competed in a singles match against Dragon Lee. The mysterious star beat Lee in typical fashion. Toward the end of the match, two other El Grande Americanos appeared, causing chaos. AJ Styles also showed up to make a massive brawl, but things ended with the three Americanos coming out on top.
The funniest part of the match, though, came when all three El Grande Americanos stood around at ringside. The trio then all looked on in confusion at one another, pointing at one another. The moment was an obvious homage to the iconic meme from the 1967 Spider-Man animated series. Fans were quick to point out the comparison online, and joked about it.
As of now, the identity of the three El Grande Americanos remains “mysterious,” although fans are sure they’ve figured out their identities by now. As for what they’re up to, the group continues to be a general thorn in the side of various groups, though it’s unclear what their future holds.
