Would you consider trading Damien for a starting CB?

Would you trade Damien Andersen for a starting CB?

yes. We need a good DB more than we need a 3rd string RB. With his performance this preseason, mayber we could get a quality corner.

But think: In two years Emmitt will be gone, Shipp will be the starter, and Damien will be the lethal second punch. The trade would have to involve a top 5 CB. Damien is looking like a serious steal.

Only one trade I would take:
D.Anderson for C.Bailey straight up!

Redskins NEED a RB we NEED a CB!

Not gonna happen though

If a deal can be done, Graves should seriously think about doing it.

TEs, we seem to be blessed at RB. But what good does that do us? It's like sitting on a pile of money while you're starving because you don't want to spend it on food. Sure having a bunch of money is great, but if you're not using it, what good is it doing you?

Is Anderson a good back? Yes. As our roster stands today, does it do us any good to keep him if there is a potential of trading a thrid striger for a starter? No. Prentice or Scobey would be more than adequate 3rd stringers.

I would trade him for a starting Defensive Tackle or a starting Cornerback, or to the Texans for thier first rounder next year.

I've been a fan of Damien Anderson's since his first Cards training camp, but if the team gets a chance at a deal like this, they've gotta jump at it.

Yes, but only for a quality starting CB, DE or DT.

Or, like someone said, to the Texans for a #1 pick, but that ain't gonna happen!

Tough one! I really like Damien Anderson but if we can get a good CB then maybe... There should have been an option "Not sure" or "Maybe" :) .

NO....I mean New Orleans. New Orleans is in need of a RB and they have been looking to trade with Washington for one of their RB's. Trade Damien to NO for Dale Carter or charles grant. We are in need of another DE also.

N.O. has McAllister, so they won't give us value for Anderson.

Dale Carter is one slip-up away from a season-long suspension.

Who do they have behind McAlister????? No one that is why they have called washington and other teams for a back-up RB. What about Fred Thomas???

They signed Ki-Jana Carter to backup McAlister.

Who do you have that you COULD trade for a starting corner. . .

Gotta remember, that nobody is going to offer a fair trade when they see desparation in the eyes of a GM. . .

We've had phone calls all week in Detroit for Luther Elliss (mostly from Washington). . .but nothing that is worth even considering. They know were are desperate for corners at this point after the Cash injury, and are trying to capitalize on it.

Are you guys joking?Damien Anderson has very little trade value. You guys are talking about trading him for 1st round picks.Did somebody put a couple extra shots in the kool -aid? If the Cards could get a 3rd round pick next year, very highly unlikely, then they should do it.What's next,Fred Wakefield has a couple of passes knocked down and we're trading him for Leftwich? It's pre-season,for God's sake.We need a reality check.I just read the least time NE went 4-0 in pre-season they finished 2-14.The Cards went 4-12 after doing the same thing. Now, if Anderson were to come in and light up the starters in the REGULAR season then we may have something. The only problem is he will be lucky to see the field barring injury. But i'm sure we can get Champ Bailey and his 14 million$ signing bonus for an undrafted 3rd string, maybe, RB.

Fred Wakefield had a good preseason, we should trade him for Leftwich. The Jags need a LDE who can bat down passes. :D

Fred Thomas is another one I would take!

One of the best unknown corners in the league today!

Peace

No. First, a starting CB that would be traded for Damien Anderson is probably not a starting-quality corner. Second, Emmitt Smith probably shouldn't be starting next season, and may retire (just my opinion; if the Cards have marketable talent coming out of this season, they won't need him). With Shipp and Anderson, you have a "Thunder & Lightning" attack better than what the Giants imagined with Tiki and Ron Dayne, closer to what Pittsburgh realized with Jerome Bettis and Amos Zeroue. Marcel can get you three yards every time he touches the ball, and Damien could become a home-run threat both on the ground and through the air out of the backfield.

Frankly, I think that even with Champ Bailey, this team isn't going to the Super Bowl. We have an above-average #2 backup running back for peanuts in Anderson, and I think we have him for a little while (didn't we just extend him?). We're a better team with him for three more years than without him for this year.

I agree except for the Emmitt Smith Part. I don't think he's planning to just quit after this year. I think if we try to make him quit we'll hear a lot of bitc@ing from him.

Only if it is a good CB...like Buchanon or better...etc...

Remember, in 2 yrs, Anderson will be our #2 man

Did you see the regular season game he started last year?

It would have to be an amazing deal (and likely impossible) for me to be willing to give him up. I have said from the beginning, this was a pickup by the Cards that was going to pan out in good order. I simply don't think there is a deal likely that would make me agree to it, Nobody is going to give up a top tier CB for him and I would never give him up for some nearly cut nickel hack.

Keep Damien since Emmitt is the bridge to Shipp and Shipp (as third down back/change of pace) is the bridge to Damien.
