ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — Brandon Worley rallied with a final-round 5-under 67 on Sunday to win the Championship Flight at the William B. Greene Jr. East Tennessee Amateur at Elizabethton Golf Course.

The Johnson City golfer finished the 54-hole tournament at 8-under-par 208, two shots ahead of David Goode. Jake Sheffield carded a 4-under 68 on Sunday to finish third at 212.

“It feels great. This is one of the biggest tournaments in East Tennessee, and it always feels good to come here and play well,” Worley said. “This whole weekend was a roller coaster for me, so I wanted to just have a steady round and take it one hole at a time.”

Rain and multiple weather delays impacted the final round, but Worley said staying patient helped him pull away after making back-to-back birdies around the turn.

In the Senior Division, Mike Poe claimed the championship at 8-under, while Jimmy Mashburn won the Super Senior Division at 3-under.
