World Cup: Doku's Belgium breeze past USA and into quarter-finals
Jeremy Doku was a second-half sub in Belgium's 4-1 Round of 16 victory over hosts USA at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Our 24-year-old winger sat out the first 67 minutes of the game in Seattle before replacing Dodi Lukebakio with the Red Devils already 3-1 up.
Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere had been the star up until that point, scoring Belgium’s first two goals either side of Malick Tillman’s equaliser for Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT.
Belgium were firmly in control just before the hour mark, when Hans Vanaken leapt on a mistake from goalkeeper Matt Freese to double their advantage.
That’s when Doku was introduced, up against a tiring and stretched defence as the USA tried to find a route back in.
He, and the other raft of substitutes, kept things tight until Romelu Lukaku made it safe in added time.
Belgium will now face Rodri’s Spain in Los Angeles at 20:00 (UK) on Friday in the quarter-finals.
