I think Graves does have a plan and I think we will find it will not work very well overall. He is building this team with young athletes and is looking ahead for the turnaround (I hope he isn't trying to time it with the stadium opening).

The problem is, history has shown that the top tier players will become FA and leave and the mid tier guys will be left in their wake. This is the part of the plan I am fearful of. If Graves cannot turnaround the tide of our own developed FAs leaving once their contracts are up, his plan will have a short shelf-life.

There is no way that he is worse than Donald Sterling.

I totally agree.

But he has a tough sell especially to our own free agents who already know how crappy the fans are here (not us; the other fans). I love the Cards, but if I was a player in the NFL, I wouldn't want to play here. Graves needs to resign LJ, Ray, Barrett, and the rest of our young players that have shown some promise. That's the key ingredient to building a good team.

He has to really try and extend the RFAs he wants around instead of doing the whole tender offer stuff since IMO, that only pisses them off (kind of like the franchise tag). Vision from him would be great in identifying the players he reallys wants to stay and can help this team and keeping them long term.

What player(s) do Cards fans and potentially new Cards fans have to identify with? They just start to see a player blossom and then all of a sudden he is gone to "greener" pastures. Keeping these guys will only help build the fan base in the long run.

I bet there are Casual Cards fans out there who buy into the "Cards never keep their best players" argument because they start to identify with s certain player and their attention starts to focus more on the Cards and all of a sudden...BAM that player ends up in New Orleans or wherever.

I believe it started last year with Shipp and I think Wakefield. We will see what happens this year with some earlier contract extensions. A whole new way of doing business won't happen over night. But it can start now.

The Quote, "The Cardinals Suck" from fans of teams like Lions, Vikings, Cowboys, Patriots, Eagles and so on. Words of wisdom for theses hapless trolls. If your team sucks worst than the cards do today(and I could care less about past Glory) you sound like an idiot. If your team has a history of futility and has a couple of goood seasons, you might want to check yourself. If your team has never won the big one, you should think twice before opening that gaping pie hole.

Hey, Lions fans, your team had the best running back in football history and they still couldn't get it done. Besides, when is the last time the Lions beat the Cards during the regular season? Was it 1994?

Vikings Fans, don't give me gruff about fielding consistent contenders. The point of playing the game is to win Super Bowls.... 2nd place is just the first loser. Besides, your team is much closer to the Texans (talent wise) than to the Bucs anyway.

Speaking of the Bucs...........Bucs fans the history of your team is truly pathetic and the Bucs are still in the bottom tier in wins column (historically speaking)...the days of gloom will return you bags of monkey filth, they will return.

Bears fans..... for having some of the best players in history your team has really sucked a lot of the time. Your glory days occured when my grandpa was is diapers... a couple of good years in the '80s, a team that consistently sucked in the '90s so what do you have to be proud of, Brian Urlacher? Ohhh, you have one of the top players at linebacker.... the second coming of Butkis. Yeah, and the team will still suck .... just like it did when you had Butkis. This aint basketball you miscreants.... one player does not make a team.

Bills fans..... see Vikings fans description..... you were the first loser for four years a row. You couldn't even win when OJ was knifing through defenses (I had to say it) and you are the ugliest fans in football. When you invade Sun Devil stadium you bring the nastiset collection of sweathog women I've ever seen. I'm talking 300 plus pounds, and more facial hair than Abraham Lincoln.

Greenbay fans...... your team sucked for the better part of the '70s, '80s and early '90s. The you stumle upon Brett Favre. Hell, even a blind ******** squirrel finds a nut occasionally. Brett Will retire, the Packers will suck again.

Cowboys fans...... the Cards punked the boys in their own house in the playoffs. Also, in the history of bad Cards picks....they never picked Quincy Carter in the 2nd round.

Patriots fans.... you have some of the worst characteristics of all the other teams' fans. Team history of sucking, injury or two away from sucking hard and etc. Let's not forget, the proudest moment in your franchises history came because of blown call..... my ass that wasn't a fumble.

Eagles fans...... you talk trash but the truth is there has been virtual parity between our teams. I loved it when the Eagles started a year strong only to have the Cards beat them, sending them carreening into the abyss of suckitude for the rest of the season. Look at the record in the '90s (head to head not general) and tell me how the Eagles were so much better.

So, in conclusion, what sets me off is fans who talk up their team while bashing te Cards. Especially when their team is....the Cincinnatti Bengals.

Shipp made sense...but Wakefield? He is ok but is he somehow the building block to a team that will go to a Super Bowl? No, IMO. The fact that the Cards were proactive in this does suggest a change but when guys like Thompson and Davis ...the real high talent (if not production) guys...are able to leave, that will tell us exactly where this organization is.

Very true especially the Patriots. Pats fans were so obnoxious about their Super Bowl win, and it was sad because everyone knew it was a fluke win.

A Different Take on Wakefield

I view Wakefield as something of a unique challenge. I'll be the first to agree that he regressed last year (He was too often caught inside and didn't bat down that many passes either).

But I don't view him as a marginal athlete who overachieved as an UDFA. Quite the oppositie, I see him as a very good athlete - with 6-7 height and plenty of room to add bulk to his frame - who lacked the technique of playing either DE in the pros.

My guess is that he may be suffering from a lack of quality technique-coaching under Mean Joe and we have to hope that our new assistant can teach him the tricks of the trade.

If that happens, I could see Wakefield being a very very good DE for us - even a Pro Bowl candidate. (Unfortunately that IF looms as pretty humongous).

"Why don't you stop cheering for a loser and pick another team?" I hate hearing that.

And, for me as a blond chic, "Oh she doesn't know any better. Must just like the color red." ERRRR!!!!

My boss telling me he is buying a flex pack and he will be able to cheer on the cardinals for one of the four games... he's a jackass anyway.

Bengals fans telling me how great the Bengals are going to be this year and how poor the Cards will be.The Bengals fans saying how great of a coach Lewis will be(Minority of the month) before the guy has coached a game. How the Bengals can rag anyone while Mike Brown runs the team just amazes me.
