Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton is beyond excited about working with new offensive coordinator and playcaller Davis Webb, going so far as to call him a "mad scientist."
"(Davis Webb) is a mad scientist when it comes to the offensive game and he spent the past three years now being able to learn the game under coach [Sean] Payton, who we all know is an offensive genius," Sutton said after Denver's first round of OTA practices earlier this month. "He has one of the best offensive minds and to be able to have that amount of time to learn the game from someone as talented and special as coach Payton, it’s ultimately allowed him to be able to master this offense that he has been able to put together."
Sutton credited Webb's ability to be a good playcaller and coach to his time as a quarterback in the NFL. "It’s a combination of things that he has learned from Coach Payton and things that he has liked and seen from his own experience of playing and coaching in this league," Sutton said.
Sutton believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that Webb is ready for this new responsibility. "I know he is ready," Sutton said. "I know that he is ready. Being able to listen to the way he coaches and the way he is teaching the terminology to us on the field and in the classroom has been amazing. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from him and continuing to pick his offensive brain.”

The Broncos held a mandatory minicamp this week, and Sutton and his teammates now have a summer break until training camp begins in late July. Fans will get to see what Davis has cooked up once preseason begins in August.
