Paige Bueckers is taking the leap.
All the great ones do it at some point. They go from someone with immense potential and solid production and turn into that hooper who is the best player on the floor every single game.
Over the last month, the second-year Dallas Wings guard out of UConn is doing just that.
That includes Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Sparks, when Bueckers had 25 points on 10-for-18 from the floor (2-4 3FG, 3-3 FT) and added four rebounds and five assists.
The Wings have now won their final six games heading into the All-Star Break, all because of Bueckers.
But if we go back further, to June 17, which is now a span of 11 games, Bueckers has been incredible.
Those games, in order from most distant to most recent:
- 15 points, 8 assists
- 19 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists
- 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists
- 25 points, 6 assists
- 25 points, 4 assists
- 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists
- 22 points, 7 assists
- 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists
- 34 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists
- 22 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists
- 25 points, 5 assists
In seven of those games, Bueckers has shot better than 52% from the floor.

She's nearly automatic from the foul line, only missing two free throws in that entire 11-game span.
Her turnover numbers have never gone above four, and they've been either 1 or 2 in eight of those 11 games.
Bueckers has nabbed at least a steal in six of those games and blocks at least one shot in five of those games.
She has simply decided that she can control the game any way she wants, and that's what's happening.
It's why the Wings are winning, and it's why she'll be one of the most highly anticipated players at the All-Star Game.
Everyone already knew who Bueckers was, but she has now fully arrived.
