The Boston Red Sox have gone from zero to hero this MLB season, and they've shown no signs of stopping their midseason run.

Through the last 36 games, Boston earned a 31-5 mark, including their latest thrilling comeback win against the Chicago White Sox on Friday night at Fenway Park. Prior to that game, ESPN baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian shared his thoughts on whether or not Boston is here to stay.

While the Red Sox are still five games behind the AL East's division leader, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Boston train has yet to come to a screeching halt. Kurkjian outlined why the Fenway Fanatics should continue their momentum into the playoff baseball season.

Here's why the longtime baseball analyst believes the Sox could make some noise if October baseball comes to Fenway.

What did Tim Kurkjian say about the Red Sox?

Kurkjian, who has been with ESPN since 1998, both as a columnist and an analyst, kept his Boston optimism high. Through the last six weeks, the Red Sox have had the best record in baseball with 31 wins across 36 games, a new franchise record. Prior to the team's exhilarating extra-innings win against the White Sox last night, here's what Kurkjian said on "SportsCenter."

"They're going to be a dangerous team in October if they play anywhere close to the way they have for the last six weeks."

"They're going to make the playoffs," Kurkjian said. "They had no roster flexibility to start the season, too many outfielders, but they've corrected a lot of things. To be 30-5 without Garrett Crochet, who is one of the best pitchers in the league, the Red Sox are really good. This is not a mirage that they've won 30 of 35."

"They're going to be a dangerous team in October if they play anywhere close to the way they have for the last six weeks," said Kurkjian.

AL playoff picture

At the moment, the Red Sox are half a game behind the New York Yankees for the first wild card spot, and are now just five games behind their division leader, the Tampa Bay Rays. Here's what the AL playoff situation is as of Friday morning
