Who says 13 has to be an unlucky number?
The Boston Red Sox have won 13 in a row, and after some drama a day before, this one was easy -- a 6-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday at Fenway Park.
It's the second-longest winning streak in franchise history.
Only a 15-game streak in 1946 measures as longer.
This day might've best been summed up by the fact that the Red Sox scored three runs in the third inning with no hits:

The Red Sox had already held the lead at that point on an RBI double from Andruw Monasterio.
Later on, Willson Contreras blasted a two-run home run, his 22nd homer of the season.
That was more than enough for Sonny Gray, who continued to show he was an All-Star snub.
He's now 12-1 with a 2.48 ERA on the season.
The Red Sox were 37-48 before this win streak began and are now 50-48.
To do this against the Rays is remarkably impressive, too, because they went into the All-Star Break as the AL East leaders, and they're one of the most consistent teams in baseball. Sweeping them shows just how for real these Red Sox are.
At this point, they might never lose again -- at least, that's the way it feels.
