Texas A&M (21-10, 11-7 SEC) finished the 2025-2025 regular season with back-to-back wins over Kentucky and LSU, defeating the Tigers in triple overtime 94-91 in one of the crazier games of the season, led by three players scoring in double figures, while senior forward Rashaun Agee produced 26 points and 11 rebound, and played a team-high 47 minutes.

Even after defeating Kentucky, Texas A&M was still on the periphery of earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament, needing to defeat the Tigers to finish the regular season on a win streak, and (likely) cement their spot in the big dance to avoid sweating out Selection Sunday. However, nearly every team on the tournament "bubble" lost on Saturday, which was good news for the Aggies no matter the game's result.

Still, after playing three overtimes, winning is much more gratifying than leaving Baton Rouge with a loss, especially given the need to play in the SEC Tournament just five days later. So, how far did the Aggies rise in various bracket updates? That remains to be seen, but first-year head coach Bucky McMillan should be the front-runner for SEC Coach of the Year.

Just 11 months ago, McMillan was the last Power 4 coach hired, and he inherited a roster completely gutted after former head coach Buzz Williams departed for Maryland, leaving just one reserve player, sophomore forward Chris McDermott, on the roster. Landing 13 players from the transfer portal, the Aggies were picked to finish 13th in the SEC and to win fewer than five games in conference play.

At 21-10 and 11-7 in the SEC, finishing 6th in the conference and earning a first-round bye in next week's SEC Tournament, it's clear that McMillan and his veteran squad have completely defied expectations. Competing with Florida head coach Todd Golden, turning a program around compared to reloading after winning a national championship the previous season.

Bucky McMillan is the real deal. Had no time to build a roster from scratch. Has zero size on that roster. Built a scrappy as hell squad that just went 11-7 in the SEC and finished tied for fourth.

Texas A&M will be a problem going forward.
