The New York Giants finally hired their offensive coordinator this week, and while the fanbase isn't thrilled with Matt Nagy being the next playcaller, there is a reason he was hired.
The cons about Nagy's coaching experience and success are why the Giants' fanbase isn't happy with this hire. However, he will be under John Harbaugh this time, who is entirely capable of filling in the gaps.
Harbaugh, who spent nine years with the Philadelphia Eagles under Andy Reid, has had guys like Rex Ryan, Chuck Pagano, and Mike Macdonald learn from him and be successful head coaches elsewhere.
The pros to Nagy being in New York should offer a twinge of hope to the frustrated fanbase, though. Not only did he take a Mitch Trubisky-led team to the playoffs, but he was instrumental in helping develop Patrick Mahomes. He's also worked with Donovan McNabb and Alex Smith, two additional quarterbacks who thrive when going off-script.
If Nagy can help develop Jaxson Dart the way he did Mahomes, the Giants will become a force to be reckoned with.
Many of the pieces are already in place for the Giants; they need to adjust in a few areas, but talent-wise, they're close. Dart's development will dictate how the season goes, and all eyes will be on Matt Nagy.

Jaxson Dart is at his best off-script.
