LEBANON – Justin Allgaier won his third Gibson Guitar trophy on May 30 after winning the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 at Nashville Superspeedway.

How is he celebrating? He's taking a swim in the Cumberland River.

Allgaier said he signed up two weeks to participate in the Ashley Whitney Music City Triathlon on May 31, where he'll start by jumping off the General Jackson Showboat at 7:30 a.m.

"If I'm being honest, it's not the smartest decision I've ever made in my life," Allgaier said after the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts win. "It's what a group of friends will do to you. Our run group that we run with, we talked about it and we decided it was a great idea. In one theory, it was a great idea.

"But I can't swim. I can swim at a pool party, but it's not my strength. And we only signed up two weeks ago. I've been trying to learn how to swim. I've been at the lake swimming."
