Mine are
1 DE Solomon Thomas
2 ILB Reuben Foster
3 WR Mike Williams
4 DE Malik McDowell
5 WR Corey Davis

I think any one of these five would make an instant impact on the 2017 season.

Reuben Foster
Jamal Adams
Malik Hooker
Marshon Lattimore
Solomon Thomas (if we lose CC)
Corey Davis (if we don't)

Edit: if the top 3 or 4 guys are gone at #13, my first choice would be trade down for **** Tabor or Corey Davis.

That was the reason I was looking at Malik McDowell. He would be CC's replacement if he left in free agency as a true 3-4 DE. Solomon Thomas is pure beast mode. Take him if he is there.

I say you draft Thomas and still find a away to hold onto Campbell... I want this defense to be elite and not just covering up for lost pieces, stack the danger for the opposing offense :)

I agree with your thinking. Make opposing QB's afraid to play us.

Sorry- I just don't follow instructions very well -- but some players in the mix at 13:

Malik Hooker. Not a screaming need, but in an increasingly pass happy league--a top notch deep middle FS-- a guy compared to Ed Reed could make playing teams that throw like the Packers, Falcons and Seahawks much easier

Jamal Adams: like Hooker, but more of a guy who is better within 10 yards of the LOS. Think a bigger, faster Tony Jefferson.

Solomon Thomas. His first year, maybe just a rotational player which is a tough for 13th overall -- but a guy to create some instant inside pass rush pressure to go with Jones/ Golden.

Reuben Foster. Love the fact that you get sideline to sideline run support along with solid pass coverage underneath.

1. Deshaun Watson - yes, I know he has his warts but he is a winner. He can sit behind Palmer and learn for a year or two.

2. Mike Williams - this offense could improve dramatically if Williams contributes in year one.

3. Jamal Adams - Dominate player who can line up in multiple spots.

4. Corey Davis - see Mike Williams

5. Rueben Foster- downgraded because ILB isn't too important to this current defense, but he is an amazing talent.

Everything I read states that this CB class is great and deep so I would wait until the 2nd rd to get our CB.

Thomas
Foster
Hooker
Williams
Trade back.

My 7:

RB/WR Christian McCaffrey
RB Dalvin Cook
OLB Derek Barnett
DT Jaleel Johnson
CB **** Tabor
WR Corey Davis
G Forrest Lamp

I think they all look like potential Pro Bowlers.

Assuming that the following will be taken prior to $13:

OLB Garrett
DE Allen
DE Thomas
QB Watson
QB Kiser
QB Trubisky
S Adams
S Hooker
RB Fournette
WR Williams
LB Foster
CB Lattimore

I'm interested on your thoughts of McCaffrey, Tabor and Lamp Walter. What are seeing watching tape.

McCaffrey is the best triple threat (RB/WR/PR) playmaker in the draft. He plays with excellent balance and vision and is surprisingly tough for his size. If we draft him, we finally have a field flipper as a returner and we have one of the best RB/WR duos in the game (DJ and CMcC).

**** Tabor excels in press coverage (which is made to order for our defense)---he has quick hip, very good recovery speed and possibly the best ball skills of any of this year's CBs.

Forrest Lamp is being likened to the Cowboys' G Zach Martin, who also converted from T to G in the NFL. Has very good feet, hands and the lower body strength to anchor and leverage. Knowing your penchant for detecting offensive line talent, Gary, I think you will quickly become enamored with him.

You're kidding right. Let me dissect this group.

First off, do you really want to have a white boy running around the field with the ball? Come on, man!

2ndly, Cook? What team can afford to have 2 probowl caliber RBs? Just not cost effective or realistic.

3rdly, a player named Jaleel? The only Jaleel I ever knew was a baby pink skinned white boy who looked like he hadn't been outside to play in his whole life. He did become a famous concert pianist though.

4thly, don't **** me. Shirley you jest.

5thly, and most absurd .... someone whose name sounds similar to Forrest Gump. "My Momma say, "Football is like a box of chocolate, ......" Do you want us to be the laughing stock of the league once again?

Come on, how about some guys named Rocky, Duke, or Jumbo.

Trade down

Watson

I don't think there's a chance Watson or Foster will be there. In fact, from what I'm hearing Williams will be gone too. I really think with decent corners and receivers available later the Cards would be wise to move down. The combine and Pro Days will provide more clarity. I don't like taking Watson here, but if they don't move down and he's on the board it's a fun gamble. The top 10 likely won't be changed much by workouts except for the QBs.

So what is the top ten that you are hearing?

I was thinking the same. not way down...but maybe between 18-20.... I like Zach Cunningham,...really as a second rounder,...but I am pretty sure he will not make it to the second round....so if there is not a coveted player at our spot...trade down a bit and grab Cunningham....solid all round backer with great instincts, good vision and decent hips.

+1

If we could trade down and still get ZC I would be happy with that. Especially if we could get another second.
