A college coach who was born on third base wouldn’t be the right hire. At least not for this job where you’re dealing with poor institutional leadership.
Born on 3rd base??? He's previously coached in the NFL and has been around for awhile. He was the OC when OSU was putting up points like a video game against Michigan under Meyer.

But nice Harbaugh reference.

You might be right about working for Mikey though.

Those clamouring for Saleh statistically the 49ers are very mediocre.
All categories are ranked in the 20’s except points allowed which is 11th.
They very seldom blitz and are a bend but don’t break defense.

The 49ers are successful because of a terrific offensive scheme..TERRIFIC.

All 3 teams in our division will have scored almost 500 points this year. Building a defense to stop these teams is a tall order.

The Bears stole Johnson away from Detroit and it hurt the Lions.
We could do the same with Klint Kubiak. He’s from the Shanahan Tree of coaching.

Go get him. Sign him for whatever it cost. Mr. Bidwill if you want our money then you’re going to have to spend some of yours.

Yeah but their defense has legit been decapitated by injury.

I agree tho Salah is not the answer here.

The 49ers defense was fantastic before injuries hit, huge, huge upgrade from their previous three defensive coordinators. Although I probably shouldn't bring that up. I know you don't believe in injuries.

Everyone is running a version of a bend don't break zone without a lot of blitzing. Except for Flores, who publicly has beef with Bidwill.

Kubiak's an interesting candidate. His offense has more in common with Petzing's than Shanahan's and he doesnt adapt his gameplan as much as Shanahan/McVay. Although who knows if people here would notice the similarities to Petzing if we get a new QB. To me the Seahawks strength is their defense, no one trusts their offense going into the postseason.

I think taking Saleh hurts our division more than taking Kubiak. I dont want to see this 49ers squad at full strength with both Saleh and Shanahan. Someone also needs to hire away Shula from the Rams.

Overall this is a jimmies and joes game. Detail oriented coaches are important, but Coordinators look a lot smarter when their guys win their 1v1s. The 49ers made a superbowl with Steve Wilks doing a subpar job as their DC (and they immediately fired Wilks). Our division isnt going to get substantially worse until they start having some horrific drafts along with their stars aging out.

I do consider injuries but the drop off has been so drastic that it warrants scrutiny.
Do you know how good our defense would have to be to stop our divisional opponents?
Give me a an offense that scores 29-30 pts. A game ( aka Seahawks and Rams) and I’ll show you a better defense.

Yeah, I mean we keep hearing about how the players haven't quit on him.
Yeah, it sure seems like they have though. I don’t know hard to tell with that many fourth and fifth stringers and guys who weren’t even in the NFL two or three weeks ago. You’d like to think a good coach could get these guys to be a little bit more competitive just from the scheme standpoint I don’t know man tough spot to be. I guess if you’re not thrilled with those coaches, quarterbacks, etc. in this cycle. then maybe you just run it back with JG and see what happens next year.

@kerouac9 and his fail fast philosophy is valid and one I appreciate. I also feel like to many teams aren’t patient.

It’s difficult because as a fan, I’ve been patient for too many years but I can see a world where they run it back with JG and even Kyler as depressing as it sounds

Kyler isn’t coming back next year. He’s done.

The biggest concern is if Gannon & even Monti are coming back

Well, if we’re considering injuries, then Gannon probably deserves to come back.
Injuries don’t make up for the numerous gaffes in his game management. Not taking points early in the game. Running a 4th down sneak with nearly 2 yards to gain in our own territory early in the game. There were many more examples.
Gannon looks like a child going up against men.

We were supposed to be what the Bears are this year. But their GM signed an all pro right guard, a center and a left guard. All starters.
We limped along under Hernandez was getting healthy.

The sad part is a new GM is going to tear it all down again. But whoever that is he can’t be handcuffed. But you know he will be.
