I just hope Monti can stay employed long enough to actually see his slow build pay off. And that he doesn't have to hire a new HC with a new scheme because Gannon can't win 7 games because the roster is full of Bilal Nichols (mid vets) and BJ Ojulari (young players the team is dependent on to make immediate impacts) type players.
The previous guy survived multiple DUIs, burner phones and off ball linebackers. Monti will be fine.

This board is going to be something is Monti trades down, Wilson gets dinged up in training camp, and Brian Thomas looks like Hakeem Butler as a immediate starting WR next to Dortch and Pascal. I don't want to hear about hindsight being 20/20 if that happens. It would have just been a bad plan.

EDITED: my love of AZ transposed my intended statement of Hakeem Butler with my favorite NFL Hakeem, Hakeem Nicks.

GMs can usually survive two or three coaching changes. Michael Bidwill seems pretty shamelss/indifferent to losing right now. Wouldn't be surprised if Monti continues to roll over first-round picks in an effort to stay employed because the next big pick is always right around the corner (that realizes his plan). These former NE executives are REALLY GOOD at staying employed.

Yeah, but I think that guy was partying with Michael on the regular. Will Monti be willing to prostrate himself embarrassingly if the on-field product stays mired in mediocrity and those goofy end zone casitas go unsold?

Don't put this evil on us, bro. We're all Cardinals fans here. Wilson only get injured when he gets hit; I don't think he's a soft-tissue guy.

That Hakeem Nicks thing though. That freaking hurts. He was, like, pretty good.

Glad to see you all in on Monti now. I prefer to call it Building for Long Term Success.

For Monti it all comes down to the Draft. A strong draft this year is key.
If he bones up the draft this year, are you going to want him gone?

And yet he will never be hired as a GM again? Pure greatness.
I don't know. For some reason, Trent Baalke seems to keep getting hired.
But I'm guessing most GM's, once fired, don't get a lot of 2nd chances like coaches do. I might be wrong but not many GM's come to mind who have been fired taking over another team.

#3 pass catchers on good teams around the league are nothing special. I expect MHJ and McBride to lead the team in receiving with Wilson/Dortch/3rd round rookie to be the other options.
McBride isn't a wide receiver. I see you've broadened the discussion to the TE room. I'm talking about the WR room. Dortch as your #3 isn't good because he's more a 4 or 5 and running so bare bones in the WR room leaves you zero depth.

Dude, we could be in year 5 of the rebuild and folks would be preaching patience, that we're being too impatient, and we're keeping our powder dry to save cap for next year lol

Right because TEs aren't receivers.

You don't have to have a higher end #3 WR when you have a TE who essentially gets those stats.

I don't like this plan at all. It's betting on too many factors to be successful.

It could work though.

Because the #2 WR in this offense isn’t going to be the #2 pass catcher. I’ll keep trying to explain this if you want.
