The Winter 2025-26 high school sports regular season has come to a close in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, a Taunton wrestler was crowned an MIAA Division 1 champion while a Bristol-Plymouth basketball player became the fourth Craftsman to reach 1,000 career points. Bridgewater-Raynham hockey secured its first tournament berth in six years while Taunton hockey defended its Battle of Bristol crown and Somerset Berkley/Case/Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk hockey held onto the No. 32 seed in Division 3 after some uncertainty.
The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Feb. 9-15 is Bridgewater-Raynham indoor track's Caiden Blake, receiving 61% of the vote. Bristol-Plymouth wrestling's Colby Grenon came in second with 38% while Taunton hockey's Jamie Vallarelli and Taunton wrestling's Will Buffington each received 0.31% to tie for third.

Who is the Taunton Daily Gazette H.S. Boys Athlete of the Week for Feb. 16-22?
Thielker had 27 points against Oliver Ames.
Santos had 26 points and 8 rebounds against Stoughton.
Aisiku had 25 points, including the 1,000th of his career, against Assabet Valley.
Reidy had 30 points against Medfield.
LaChance had a goal and a pair of assists against Middleboro/Carver/Wareham.
Tudor had a goal and a pair of assists against Bellingham.
Buffington won the 215 lb. title at the MIAA Division 1 Championship.
Blake finished 11th in the 600-meter (1:24.22) and was the final leg of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished 10th (3:29.95) at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
